yeah ive done it twice today and have had pure clean water come out. i just filled it back with half coolant/ half water. i my redo it at the end of the week and run some cleaner through it for a few days or so. but its all good. funny though, the motor was just rebuilt. cleaned inside and out, all new coolant lines. head was hot tanked to perfection, and all that remained was the heater core. wish they didnt cost 92 dollars ------- new.........

 

not to mention a total pain in the *** to intsall

 

also make sure to bleed your system if you are nto doing it yet

 

yeah ive bleed the system and it still does as previously stated. i think i may just replace the heater core and headgasket. i dont really want to replace the hg, but there may be a possibilty that it could be garbage. even though i have no symptoms of it failing....

 

ok updates....

1- straight water i have no issues at all except constant smoking, or maybe just cold weather and exhaust is exiting making it smoke.
2- never overheats, doesnt get hot at all, have consistent heat.
3- i rape it like a new 16 year old virgin and it stays cool.....

im wondering if my hg is really at fault here, or if its the rad coolant im using? im using the cheap store brand thats supposed to be able to be mixed with anything. did fine for a week prior when i used it, went back and forth to school every day and it was fine. then went to the mall and started to come back sunday and it went bozo on me again. i dunno, im going nuts.

 

i dont think the coolant is the problem. it sounds like it might be a headgasket. they make some stuff to test your coolant and see if there is any combustion gasses in it. it is pretty cheap

true. i think im gonna go to the auto store and see about renting one thursday, since i have school and work today im not gonna be able to get anything done. but thats what i was thinkin as well that its the hg. but its wierd.....as far as i can tell i show no sypmtoms of a blown hg? i still have plenty of power to chirp into second with a 4 speed mind you.....but i will do a compression check thursday. cant be to hard to do one....or is it?
