ZC Unleashed at the Track!! With VIDEOSS!!!!

WEll The track opens Tonight(in an hour!!!), So I'm bringing the NA ZC civic for a some baseline runs. I put in new tranny fluid(Gm syncromesh) Reset my timing, new plugs(cheapo coppers) in preperatin for ass kicking.

I also did a compression test, I got 160 165 165 165, is this good? I actually feel ghetto, I can't believe my compression is this low, Should I still boost it?

I have a zc with Si trans, headers, full 2.5 exhaust, High flow Cat, Intake, Stripped interieur, Hard mounts, and normal shitty tires. Altitude is alittle high here(really cold out), What do you think I should Run?

I'll have pictures and videos Of canadian Styles Drag Racing when I Return, So be prepared!!!

Re:ZC Unleashed at the Track!!

why did you put GM oil in yor honda tranny? ???

projekteg 04-23-2004 07:33 PM

Re:ZC Unleashed at the Track!!

that compression is fine, as long as they're not within, plus or minus 15 or 20 of eachother, they should be straight, however, your car is ------- gay and ghetto, so your compression is the least of your worries.

Re:ZC Unleashed at the Track!!

Yeah, GM synchromesh is definitely not good for our trannies, it has kerosene in it. I heard it isn't even that good for GM trannies.

Kerosene ??? I don't know where you heard that but all GM syncromesh is is 5w30 motor oil, I was told this by a transmission rebuilder, that is all they use for their transmissions, well the smaller ones anyways. There are alot of people that use the syncromesh not knowing the difference, but most people that I know using it in a honda says it works better. You gotta like the look on their face when you tell them they spent $30 for something that is only worth $9 :P

Re:ZC Unleashed at the Track!!

Haha yes the paying 30$ for a 5$ item is funny ----. Kerosene.. bad? That stuff just cleans the tranny.. its not cathcing on fire in there... Geez

LSD Motorsports 04-23-2004 09:33 PM

Re:ZC Unleashed at the Track!!

Oh and depending on ur driving skills i say you run a 15.2 +/- .3

nonvtec 04-23-2004 09:49 PM

Re:ZC Unleashed at the Track!!

It's not 5W-30, read the ingredients, Kerosene is like number 3 on the list. What is the point of running that stuff through anyway. A manual transmission rarely gets gunked up enough to require Kerosene. When there is crap in a transmission it settles to the bottom and doesn't contact the gears anyway.

Ok, I just got back and all I could muster was a 16.1, and I'm pissed off. I heard from honda-tech that Gm syncromesh is awesome ---- for trannies, It works good, big difference.

just sell drugs or something. anyways, you should be pretty quick (14's anyways) when you turbo that bitch. btw, i reccomend honda mtf, much better than regular oil, and there's no debate on whether or not it's good for your tranny ;)

nothing wrong with running GM syncromesh friction modified... MTF is good too.

Damn boy i ran a 16.2 last week in my 88 accord with no muffler, no back seat, stripped trunk, no a/c etc modded stock air intake etc... what were your 60 fts? I was pulling 2.3s spinning the tires halfway thru first (2800 rpm dump)

ther was a post about tranny fluid a while back, where some people were saying that gm synchro mesh was a geat tranny fluid and that it would cause your car not to grind in gears :-\ any one remember that?

Re:ZC Unleashed at the Track!! With VIDEOSS!!!!

GM Syncromesh is a good fluid to use in DSM trannys. Jesus, just put straight 10-30w motor oil in ours, or MTF.

Your car is slow, I hit 14.8 with my ZC Intake/header and no exhaust

I haven't gone to the local track (1hour's drive) yet to get some times, but if I don't get into the 15s I'm going to cut myself.

maybe its the elevation. those zc's i have a lot of potential. especially when u put it in those lunchboxes or a crx. mine went 14.9 in my crx with a molded body kit that weighed 2 fucken tons. i regret doing that ----. but oh well its not my car anymore...haha your car is slow. probably slower than my all motor civic mang
