This doesn't *need* become a thread about how much you hate the way things work out, but I agree that it will. As soon as more people start posting IDEAS instead of OPINIONS, then maybe we'll be able to associate progress with this instead of stupidity.

"We should _____ because _____." = Idea
"They are taking over our country!" = Opinion

My 2 cents, start language-centric schooling. When you come into a country with a language other than yours, you should be expected to learn that language. That said, it's going to be a process. You might not convert the parents, but the kids are always the future. You start a Spanish speaking school, then have a man-dated English class, you will decrease the unnecessary language barrier and still be able to keep parents from feeling left in the dark due to their difference. Sounds rather simple, but that takes funding for school which won't happen anytime soon. :P

but leaving the kids as the translator, then they get to tell their parents whatever they want as what their principal said :-\

i know i've done it. my mom doesn't speak spanish so when i had to goto the ghetto dentist is the mexican-area cuz her insurance was like "---- yo kids bitch", i had to translate everything they said. and when they said i could have optional work done, i told her i was done and didn't need another appointment >:D

Actually, with "language-centric schooling" and "Spanish speaking school", I was implying that their 'main' language be Spanish instead of English. Spanish teachers, Spanish consulers, Spanish principal, Spanish janitor, and whatever else. :P

Really? I never thought of that! Oh wait, if you actually read what I stated you'd see one difference... MANDATED English class. ::)

If English speaking people were 43% of the populus in their schools, you don't think they'd also have this problem? Good job, application of situation with different variables as if it were the same.
Let me put it in a way you might understand; if someone posted on here wondering why their manifold made for a Toyota didn't work on a Honda, how would you react? You make fun of him because he's stupid for not recognising the difference between the set-ups... Apply that how you want.

your analogy stinks.

bottom line is. you come to the united states, you learn english.

you should come to the US to become an american, not to bring mexico with you.

What is your idea on how to fix the problem posed by the Spanish parents? Throw them out? ;D
