i'm spending Thanksgiving camping in glamis with my breezie and kid and some friends and their families. I've never been before and i bet i'm going to be the only asian there. but anyways, i'm bringing my FJ, and my lady's little brother's dirt bike, and some lobster for thanksgiving feast. i'm hella excited cause i get to go off roading in some sand but i'm a NEWB to the whole "glamis" scene so i dont know wtf to expect besides a bunch of sand in the crack of my ass.

anybody have any suggestions in terms of necessities?

by the time i get back, i'll bet i'll be a cockasian.

Go get a dirt bike! No money down and just a few$ a month.

I love Glamis. I'll be making frequent trips very soon. What to expect? Expect a ---- load of people to be everywhere. Expect to be covered in sand the entire time. It's never quiet, depending on where you're camped so be prepared to get woken up several times during the night. I always camp at the washes, just as you turn across the railroad tracks. It's dusty as ---- most of the time, especially when people are crowding in so you might want to choose a wash farther down. It makes it easier to find your way back to camp at the washes because all you have to look for is the train tracks and once you hit them you just look for whatever number your wash is(they are all numbered). The farther you go, the quieter it gets. BTW, I hate you for going there. I'm soooo ready for a Glamis trip. :y

I usually stay around wash 9 for some reason...seems easier to take off from and find for some reason. Don't forget to watch the sand drags. I'm not sure what time they're starting anymore, but if you ask around at the store or around camp I'm sure someone will tell you. Have fun and be safe. There are alot of stupid fuckers out there not paying attention to where they're going. :l

Haven't been to glamis. my neighbor and i may be taking a trip there this summer.

ive heard there are tons of people there...

unless your FJ has a good gob of power i dont think you'll have much fun expect for putting around

Im sorry but glamis is garbage! Over crowded, in every sense. Its a place for show offs to take their $30k banshee's and $100k sand rails, make a couple passes, then sit by their quads and rails and act like hardasses, then wait till it gets dark, get ---- faced then haul ass around. Ive been to glamis 3 times. every time I was there someone died or was critically injured by a drunk. Not my cup-o-tea. Im guessing since your going to glamis its cause you live in SoCal. If youre that hopped up to play in sand go to Pismo, or one of the other areas, you'll have more fun. Also your FJ will do just fine at glamis. the sand there is much more firm than say the sand in mexico, or in the oregon dunes, just make sure you air your tires down. Glamis im down around 15psi, the softer stuff i'll go down to 10psi(be careful and watch your bead), and if im using my beadlocks have gone down to 5psi. Also, when driving in the sand the key is to get moving without spinning your tires. if the sand is real soft, spinning the tires will just cause you to instantly bury yourself. If you do go to glamis, watch you ass!

Well if you just want to sit around and dwell about all the rich fucks, then of course you're going to have a shitty time. I go to Glamis to ride. Everywhere you go there are stupid fucks and every couple minutes someone dies from a drunk driver somewhere. I enjoy looking at the expensive toys I can't afford. Why not? :l
