You would not believe what happened...GOOD NEWS..Updated with Pics
PICS ON THE BOTTOM
well so im on spring break. and i decide im gonna change my clutch and install my turbo. and i get doing the clutch and everything goes good. take off my header, removed the ac pump and bracket and the condensor and then put on the turbo and manifold. and it looks good. so i go and take my oil filter off after im done draining my oil. and the oil filter doesnt come off. so i had the tool to take it off but it was just slipping. so i decide im gonna use a screw driver and hit it through. but then i dont realize that my t-fitting for my oil pressure gauge was there. well i forgot all about it. and i hit the screw driver up and through the filter. and i start tuggin on it and that ---- just doesnt budge. so now im pissed off. and i touch my t fitting and it falls off. and now i have the tip of my t fittin in my block. and my oil filter still hasnt came off. my dad told me to stop working on it. ive been working on my car all day. well i started at 11. but ---- that ---- pissed me off and my neighbors parents were buggin the ---- out of me. talking ---- because my shirt was dirty. she was telling my mom. i was all shut the ---- up and get the ---- out of here. stop ------ buggin me. i was so pissed off. i would have been finished if it wasnt for that stupid ass oil filter. im thinking about swapping my block. my homeboy has a d15b7 that he's willing to give to me. and another has a d16z6 bottom end that he's willing to give to me. what do u guys think i should do??? sorry this shits so long. i had to vent. boy did that ---- make me mad. has that ever happened to any of you guys. if i can get that ---- off. ill take a pic and show u what my filter looks like. |
Re:You would not believe what happened

|
Re:You would not believe what happened
aint that a bitch. i wanted to hit something or somebody for that matter. i was just standing there all pissed off. i wanted to kick my car. but i would have to fix the dent. so i just told my homeboy to take me to autozone to go pick up a easy out to see if i can take that ---- out of my block. if all else fails im gonna go get the b7 and boost it and then slap the vtec head on it and just hope it lasts

Re:You would not believe what happened
that sucks dude, oil filters should only be hand tight. I took mine off the other day by hand to get to my oil pressure fitting. good luck with the new block.
|
Re:You would not believe what happened
i know man. i tightened it hand tight when i put it in. i dont know whats the deal with it. and its only been 2600 miles since my last oil change. i usually do it every 2k miles. i just didnt want to change it and then have to change it again. but ---- man. ahh. i need to figure something out by tomorrow.

Re:You would not believe what happened
Dude, you remind me of a kid that lives across the street from me. He wanted me to help him change a dizzy...I told him, "it's a 15-20 minute job, you need to try it on your own, it's too simple" My wife gave me a guilt trip, so I went out to supervise, hehe. I watched that dumbass struggle for like three hours to change a ------- dizzy. I think he spent an hour and a half trying to install a new cap!! LOL. He was cussin' and throwin' parts on the ground (in gravel mind you) that he needed. The funny part is, I kept giving him a hard time because he would not listen to me after he came over and asked me for help. I finally just walked away, I could not take it any more, it was a laugh or cry situation. A few weeks later, I sold him a CF hood and he wanted me to help him install hood pins...I told him to stay the ---- away from me....far away, lol. Anyway, sorry about your misfortune, hope you get your shiznit fixed.

Re:You would not believe what happened

Re:You would not believe what happened
couldnt you just use one of those tools they use to remove broken bolts????? i mean im mexican and know a bit about sprinklers and they have this one tool that looks like a tap/drill bit.. and it removes the peice of broken pipe that gets stuck in the threads.... so why dont you just go to autozone and buy a bolt remover.. and try it out.. be sure to cram it in there good with like a hammer or something... and then once its embeded in there turn it with some pliars.... if the threads all fucked up... just rethread it... this might cost you like 20$ in parts and ---- if you dont have the remover and a tap and ----...
dont just give up on ----... I know little things like that can ruin your day.. but trust me theres always a way to fix things... |

Re:You would not believe what happened
Yea i think ull get it man, Im sure you know this but its gonna be tough using the easy out if the motors in your car, might not be a bad idea to swap in a new a6 block for boost, but might be a bit expensive. Just make sure you center ur hole for the easy out and get in there about pretty deep.
Good luck and yea ive dealt with the bs of people bugging and complaining when you just trying to get ur own ---- done.. Really has to piss you off how insensitive people are sometime |
Re:You would not believe what happened
I had a lot of that ---- happen when I was installing my turbo. I had a deadline because I needed to be driving my car to work, and I'll be damned if everything that could go wrong went wrong. It's frustrating, but it's all worth it!!
|
Re:You would not believe what happened
Sorry to hear about the mishap buddy...
One thing I learned when fixing cars is that when you get frustrated with your car, "GET THE ---- AWAY" because you're about to break some ----. Take a break, go get a nice ---- or head, or get some grub and come back to the job... For some miraculous reason, shiet always works the second time... haha =) Good luck on the fix man... See if you can get it out... If not blow torch the son of a bitch... hah (just kidding!) |
Re:You would not believe what happened

Re:You would not believe what happened
Had my Brass T break once. Used an Easy out. You hammer it into the brass T till it cuts in and use a wrech to spin it out. Worked good but was a bitch to get back there, good luck man, but I'm tellin ya, with the right ool, it only takes 10 min!!

Re:You would not believe what happened
My oil filter was on like super man tight. I still haven't got it off, but I'm not worried yet.
The right tools make ---- like that easy. I wouldn't go swapping blocks and ----. That's going to cost you alot of money in gaskets and ---- for no reason. You'll get it out. Just think about what you're doing. I watched a friend of mine grind the ---- out of a pilot bearing cussing and yelling the whole time. He couldn't get the fucker out for some reason so he decided this was the best route. His boss walks over(this was at his work)and asks what the hell he is doing. He explained the situation and his boss grabs this little hook thing, sticks it in there and had it out within 5 seconds. My buddy was pissed. He's one of those "I can do anything better than you" types and that showed him up. Work smarter, not harder. ;) __________________ Best Car Insurance | Auto Protection Today | FREE Trade-In Quote |
Re:You would not believe what happened
If you had a D15 in there I would take tha D16 ;D.
I had the oil filter problem like 4 times....I put it on hand tight and for some reason when i change it it's like Superman put it on. I always use a large screwdriver to take it of, but the last time I just ook it out by hand. And that was the first time I tried to take it of from under the car. That made me thinking....I did it with another friends car and damnnn it came of again from under the car. I think you should just jack the car put some stands go sleep under the car and unscrew the filter with youw hands. It's pretty tight, but not too tight though. I think the rubber just sticks like cement on there and maybe there is some vacume thing going on. |
Re:You would not believe what happened
Always oil the gasket on the new oil filter before screwing it on. I had a stuck one on a ford truck once. This was at Car Max when I was turning wrenches for a living. I grabed it with a good quality(Snap On) oil filter wrench, put a piece of pipe on the handle and lifted my self up off the floor trying to get it to break loose.I weighed 235 pounds at the time. I did this like five times before it started to turn. When it came loose the gasket was just stuck to the block.

Re:You would not believe what happened...GOOD NEWS..Updated with Pics
well as u all know my ---- was fucked up...here are the pics of what ive got done and the pic of the oil filter i promised...
theres that peice of ---- that caused all my stressing http://www.newbieforces.com/files/posoilfilter.jpg mounted the mani and turbo to the motor http://www.newbieforces.com/files/motor.jpg test fitting so i can cut the pipe http://www.newbieforces.com/files/testfitpipe.jpg new T fitting and needle valve http://www.newbieforces.com/files/tfitting.jpg heres my dsm bov. mounted upside down haha...i need to get a new pipe..this is temporary. http://www.newbieforces.com/files/bovmouted.jpg and this is all i got done today..was having trouble with my feedline. and my turbo. my turbo didnt have an 1/8 inch inlet. it was an odd fitting. so the hardware store modified the original fitting to a brass hardline and then he put a flared 1/8 fitting on the end so my feed line would work. my feedline is fucken long as ----. i need another line so i can move the needle valve and ---- to the firewall. http://www.newbieforces.com/files/motorshot2.jpg and thanks to projekteg for finding this lil vac. fitting for the nylon tubing to the regular vac. line http://www.newbieforces.com/files/projectteg.jpg so all in all today was a good day for me. i stopped while i was ahead. thanks for the support guys. |

Re:You would not believe what happened...GOOD NEWS..Updated with Pics
yeah thats true. when something goes wrong u should stop. cause when that thing didnt want to come off. i kept trying and trying. and then i broke my t fitting. and then it wouldnt come off. and this morning. all went well. the only mishap i had today was finding the fitting for the feed. it was just crap. cause the car already had a oil pressure gauge. and it wasnt a regular 1/8" fitting. it was a flared fitting. i dont know its just a lot of ----. but i got it all working. hopefully i dont have any oil leaks. ill let u guys know the status of it tomorrow night. im fucken tired. i need some sleep.
