Yet another HMT project on the road

I thought I would show my hmt project and see what you guys thought of it.I would love to here any comments on what you see that could/should be done better etc.

Car- 1990 Civic std hatchback [mpfi swap done]
Engine- Sohc ZC non vtec
Turbo- DSM T25,STD manifold ,SRT4 intercooler[modified],DSM blowoff valve,
Management\Fuel- Turbo Edit, DSM 450's and a Walbro pump

It's currently running on a basemap I made that is fairly conservative but I think with 10psi and a good tune it should lay down some good times at the track. The oil line setup with the brass is pretty ugly but is working quite well for now and leak free. The exhaust is side exit home made consisting of 2.5 mandrel bent 90,1 24" cherrybomb,a few feet of pipe and a turndown. It actually sounds pretty nice no raspyness just nice and deep.Body is pretty nasty not many straight panels on it but I'm gonna hit with a few cans of bondo and some flat black in spring.Last the rad mounting def needs some work as it is being pulled to one side by the stock mount.Been reading on this site for a year or two now and I've def learned alot best forum out there. Also thanks to Xenocron for the ecu gear and burner.

Don't worry I'm actually going to take the time to properly prep, mask everything and use a proper paint gun.I would paint it a real color but my body work skills are fairly sad so hopefully you won't be able to notice with the flat black.

Re: Yet another HMT project on the road

Yes that is a Neon rad and as you can see they don't have a cap on the rad so I had to go with a Moroso inline. The hose is a little funky looking but it works so I'll just leave it alone. The body is in bad condition in a few places there is a massive dent in the rear corner causing the hatch to leak, the hood is wrinkled along with the other side that is half bondo.I may try to blend some red in but either way I don't really care how it looks, only how it does on the track. My welding skilles def have a long way to go as well but this was my first project with the welder I just bought so it felt pretty nice to make my own exhaust, chargepipes etc. Thanks for the positive feedback I made a real effort to keep it homemade but not ghetto!

How much did you spend on the whole thing? What sort of power are you expecting?

Re: Yet another HMT project on the road

Im a canuck so prices CDN [cdn $ = .75 US]

turbo setup $600 [manifold.T25,intercooler, etc]
fuel+ecu $300 [injectors,pump,burner etc]
odds and ends $250 paint, oil ines, silicone[go to your local ind. hose supllier] mandrel bends for charge piping etc
exhaust was $93

I bought a welder as well do to this project but i don't count that as it was a excuse to finally buy one and it was $369 shipped for a 115V dual gas/flux

I'm hoping for 165-175 wheel hp at 10psi.That is on a Mustang dyno as there are no dynojets within 500miles of me everybody has Mustangs.Goal is to hit some mid 13's this year before pulling the motor in winter for bottom end upgrade. The car weighs at best 2000lbs without me in it so I think it's feasible. Will find out soon enough.Took a while to collect parts as I hunted forums etc for a few months to find good deals.Lots of paitence helps.
