what axles did you use on the car?? if you look at the drivers side axle, it looks like its bottoming out in the inner joint, i see alot of people use gsr length axles with the h22 intermediate shaft, and have the same issues. Kinda hit or miss, depending on what mounts are used.

Wow, you finally made it over here to post...and all to make fun of me :S

They are DSS Level 5 Axles with the hubs. The drivers side doesnt appear to be the issue...its the passenger side and I think its something in one of the CV joints but ------- Honda Day is next week so I might just cross my fingers and run it this way :-\

The top mount intake manifold butt dyno says it owns a stock plenum h22 with iab's removed. I also gutted/edged the bottom half of the manifold which I know is good for around 6 hp on an all motor car. Sweet build. I need to get this f20 done :1

I do the labor on this trick slut for free...its kinda of like having a step child, that you dont have to pay child support for, but you like to take them to the zoo.

The car's history has way too much money thrown at it...this time around the reworking and redesign were minimally costly. The only things done from last time around were

The cams, valves and valvetrain, the port work, bore to 88mm and new slugs...new bearings and reused the Pauter Rods.

The turbo, manifold...etc were all left over from last time, clutch and trans too.

You should be able to hit a butt ton of power on pump with that setup, Chris. I made 410 on an H22 @ 18-20 psi with a restrictive ass Drag kit and stock cams, it was just beginning to want big drops in timing meaning it was running up on knock limit. The setup you have might do 500 on pump safely, and I wouldn't be afraid to try.

Don Flores (DonF on H-T) is the one Belben always speaks high praises of...he seems to be a decent guy from what i can tell.

Agreed, of all the jocked HT porters he's the only one I care to have contact info for in my phone. I really really liked Brad Z when I met him, too, but dealing with RLZ means dealing with Howard and he burned a couple of my friends with his manners and continually lying about timeframes. Travis still wants to kill Howard, and he's been out of the car game for a few years now. I don't know how you can be bright, personable, a solid tuner, hyped like RLZ is, have people lined up to pay top dollar for work they know takes a while, and still screw that one up. ???

I agree, but that doesnt mean I'll try...if it was my car, I probably would, but I want this car to last this time around for certain :)

You would LOVE Goforth.

Goforth "It took 30 psi and a 75 shot. Do you think it can handle a 100 shot?"

Me "I really don't know. We're pretty close to knock limit on 110."

Goforth "I only have jets for an 85 and a 125 shot, let's do the 125."

i can understand being modest and saving an expensive engine but 10psi on a build block seems way over modest. half of the boosted cars on here are running 10psi on stock internals. maybe i am missing something. it wouldnt be the fisrt time

It's not about the PSI...its about the air thats moving through the engine producing actual power. This motor will get turned up, there is ZERO question of that...but this isnt the setup to push limits of anything.

This car has been built, assembled, and tuned in the most tedious manner of any car or setup I have ever done (on someone else wallet)...and thus why it is making 100 hp per cylinder at a seemingly low amount of boost. This motor is efficient...so I am trying to push the limits of efficiency here, not destruction and I don't really care if it wins me any fame, recognition or H-T bragging rights.

It's going to be fast, its going to be fun...and its going to last, put simply.

I really dont care about numbers honestly, never have and that's why you dont see a forum of dyno numbers on my website of all of the cars I have done.

...and Nitrous is for pussies who cant build a properly designed setup :l

too bad the internet drag racing scene isnt into BSFC's and frictional horsepower numbers huh?

Tom-Guy 08-11-2008 11:13 AM

Re: Xenocron's H22 EG Shop Car, ~400 whp @ 10 psi

The only car I've tuned that nets 400 at 10 psi also runs 0.39 bsfc. I have little use for fhp, although I would love to have accurate pressure charts for every engine I touch I don't really care about drag from the rings. As long as oil temps are above 170 the actual ring wear is so minimal as to be irrelevant, let them drag.

Happy, Mikey? :P
