yeah, is the proper proportioning valve in the car? I'm not too sure on which you'll need for you setup. If the front brakes are different from a DA, and you have a DA prop that could cause problems.

The prop valve is from an Si...40/40 and it should be the same as the DA anyway. I'm gonna try replacing the master and rotors today and see what that does.

Love the HPS pads.

I am running the stock Si rears, a setup like the 11" Fastbrakes kit on the front, and a 15/16" master cylinder. It will overpower the street tires pretty easily.

i dont believe this... my 88 CRX HF had 90-91 EX brakes up front, disc's in the rear and a 15/16th with no brake issues at all... i never put a 4040 in my car...
i have a 93 Civic CX now with DC integra brakes on all corners, 15/16th...NO 4040 (or change) and same thing just great brakes!

hell i recently found a 4040 i got for the CRX, and sold it... i dont believe the hype...

i have a set of Legend brake calipers forsale ;) bigger brake = better stopping...

Re: WTF are my brakes so shitty?!?!

Well, I just put on the rotors (lucked out...auto parts store did have brembo blanks...someone ordered them and never picked them up ;D ) and changed the master to the 7/8th's unit...pedal is hard as a rock now. The master must of been pretty well shot, they feel pretty good but still take a while to stop...probably because they're still the stock 9" rotor size :P I'm gonna check out some corrado g60 rotors and some other ones, whichever gives me the 11" rotor and still has the same 4-lug spacing. Then just have to make custom mount brackets for the caliper bracket lol. Here we go again. ::)

good for you :)
just always remember. EBC (kevlar) pads are bullshit, and slotted rotors chew pads like crazy. ;)
oh, and when the pedal drops ot the floor it's not the pads. you boiled your fluid out. ;) upgrade it! it's when you push your pedal and it's still hard & has resistance, but you don't stop. THAT is when the pad's have melted, and a higher quality pad, and/or slotted rotors should be used.

Actually the slotted rotors didn't do too bad. Even with oem type pads they lasted a long time. After the EBC's they def. had a shorter stopping distance, but after a while they just started to get worse and worse. Another thing I noticed as well...the blanks are thicker than the powersluts I had. Maybe these will take the heat a little better and not warp as fast, but I can almost garrentee they will warp eventually with the way I drive. :P Of course, I highly doubt these dookie 17" wheels are helping me any either...I really need to get a set of 15's badddd. Anybody got some spare 15" rims laying around? ;D

Re: WTF are my brakes so shitty?!?!

I ran through my first set of EBC green pads on slotted Brembo's on the lexus in 2000 miles in the front, and 8000 miles in the rear. that wasn't racing lmao! the next set only lasted 4-6k i don't remember
i have over 20K on my hawk HPS's. they're still abit over 50% life. and when i do drive the lex, it's just as aggressive as ever hah

those pads are total pieces of ----. and beyond anything else their braking isn't particularly good. ewwy

just keep in mind brembo suggest 1000 miles for a break in hehehe

Re: WTF are my brakes so shitty?!?!

1000 miles?!? :o Holy shitsky...that'll take me a week and a half to do lol. I figured I'd go out on the highway around 2am and do around 10 60-10mph hard brake runs, let her cool for a while, then do another 10 and cool off.
