^^^ Actually I've seen it done but they were running a reduction gear set at a 10:1 ratio or there about. Still, it when through an entire 20lbs tank of LPG in like 18 minutes.

I just skimmed over this and never noticed if they finished the project which is
why I had said I saw someone mention it...

When i studied in ireland we learned about these in our thermodynamics class. Over there they use them to generate electricity. It used a standard automotive turbo and was connected to a smiple generator.

A standard auto turbo is not going to have a very long lifespan if you slap a gear on one end of it and try to drive a generator. I don't care how much you change the gear ratio.

^^^Not saying it will last long, that's just how I've seen the power take-off done.
