Thank you so much. I hope you aren't the only one. :'( Things are better, but not 100% by any means, but I'm dealing. I see a light at the end of the tunnel for a change, which is better than it has been.

I know I dropped the ball big time on this one. I thank Jeff for defending us and knowing that this is not our usual way of doing things. I feel like a shitheel for sure............. :-[

Back in December, I started a contest (and Anthony trusted me to deal with this since his area is building great product!). I was looking for a new banner ad that we could use on web sites like HMT and others. I knew there would be a lot of talented folks here. I promised a free intercooler to the winner. Well, when the deadline came around, I dropped the ball in a big way for personal reasons (and again, I'm sure no one cares - it's not their problem), and they are all royally pissed (see original thread) that I never came back and finished what I started. As they should be. I'm trying to make good on my promise, even if I'm about four weeks late. I hope they'll let me.

A contest with so few rules is going to end in disaster, again. :y

You should probably extend the date 2 weeks and state specifically what you want/need in the banner so that all entries are somewhat equal...

For instance, standard banners are 468 x 60, and there were quite a few banners that were not this size (see JagoJon3 above).

There was also talk of t-shirts and keeping the colors to a minimum? I avoided animation & using lots of colors because of this, but again, some people did not.

Do you want/need a mailing address? Website? Logo? Phone Number? Slogan? Etc...?

I'll re-enter some of mine, but I'd like the rules clarified because it's quite a bit easier to design something that's taller than 60 pixels.

Finally, do you want to post some CCA product/car pics that we can use or is it a free for all?

You're right about that, so here goes:

RULES:

--Banner should be 468 x 60
--This is for web site advertising, NOT T-shirts (I've killed the logo idea, so use as many colors as you wish)
--Banner should include our web address - customcoachofamerica.com or speedpartsrus.com - either one will work.
--Here's a link to the old CCA Rides page (I haven't finished adding it to the new site) if you want to use car pics with the IC's installed:

--You may use any of the photos of parts that are on our web site. Royalty-free photos may be used or photos from other sources with permission.
--Slogan can be - "Break Speed Records...Not the Bank" If you come up with a better slogan, feel free.
--We'll be adding several new products to the line, but intercoolers (starting at $150.00) and turbos (not price mentioned yet, but here are two good pics - http://customcoachofamerica.com/turbo.html) should definitely be mentioned. Maybe a mention of IC's for Honda, SRT-4, VW, Mazda, etc., but not necessary.

--SO MORE PEOPLE CAN GET IN ON THE ACTION, I'LL RUN THE CONTEST UNTIL FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 10TH

Do you think maybe if a cannuck entered, you could send the I/C to someone in the states (that they choose), then that person can ship it to the canadian? Just lookin out for my canadian brethren...

I think the contest should be open to canadians (or the rest of the world for that matter) with the agreement they pay any shipping charges over and above the regular US shipping costs..

totally excluding them for not knowing some1 in the states willing to do shipping is kinda odd. (i bet 1/2 the people that read this forum on a regular basis are canadian.)

If the winner is out of the U.S. and is willing to cover the shipping charges to wherever they are (Canada or otherwise), then we're willing.

It'll be $20.00 if the winner is in Canada. Also, we CANNOT mark the customs value down unless you are willing to risk loss of damage with no insurance. If we claim value at, say, $20.00, then we must also make the insurance value $20.00. So it's a toss up - take the chance that it will get there okay and pay less duties or pay more duties but have the insurance.

To other countries is $80.00 for airmail.

I think people are thinking you'll look at the old post for entries, and alot of people took theres down in fear that you'll use them on your site without giving them the free intercooler :-\

And WHY exactly are people feeling that way?? You know, I've tried like hell to be honest here about what happened. I haven't given anybody ANY reason to think I would use their banner without their permission or without their winning the contest.

So on THAT note, please feel free to remove your banners from this thread, or any other, if you feel that might be the case.
