Why is an EGT Gauge so fucking expensive?
Does anyone know where I can find these cheap, even Egay sells them for over 110-160 US for a new one. Used ones will come to around the same, seems they have a high resale value.

I dont really care what it looks like inside my car, I just want it to work, I was thinking of getting one from a Cessna, but the Aviation Grade Guages are different sizes, I think they're 2-1/4" as opposed to the 2-1/16 we use.

Re: Why is an EGT Gauge so fucking expensive?
yes, go with the aviation gauges and they DO make standard size 2-1/16" gauges for pods as well
I got my EGT gauges kit from Westach(the same company that makes the gauge used with the LM1 WB02 kit)...Westach makes gauges for airplanes and small aircraft, cheap in price, but A+ quality. the totali kit was $65 brand new....that was the gauges, probe, and lighting kit. the gauge is "mechanical"(only the light needs 12v) in the sort that it DIRECTLY determined the temperature from the probe right on the back of the gauge....I'm not sure how to properly describe it, but all I know is it works. for $65 total you can't beat it($30 for gauge, $30 for probe and $5 for lighting kit) its 2-1/16 just like the regular Autometer gauges and fit right in my dual a-pillar pod! http://www.airstuff.com/ got mine from Sky Sports |
