I just got a 360 that will be modded later this week when the parts come in. So right now I only have Halo 2, any of you guys on Xbox Live?

i play lots of gears of war, its the ----, until halo 3 comes out. i got a buddy with a modded 360, and still plays online all the time.

Yea I have gears of war ready to play, it's teasin me sitting here >:(

I can connect to Live just fine in the dashboard, but whenever I try to in Halo 2 it gives me a network error. All the ports are forwarded through my router and the NAT is ok, but I can't find an answer why it's happening anywhere.

I was a little torn between the Xbox 360 and PS3 but from what I hear you have to buy all the updates for the games and basicly anything else the Xbox can do you have to "Buy" like HD and playing older xBox games. is this true?

I dont know why you'd have network problems on the game but not the dashboard. So you're sure it's connecting to live and not just logging in? That's weird.

Yea it just tried to connect in the game briefly then pops up "network error" and gives me the option to troubleshoot. I do the troubleshoot and everything says it's fine ???

Is it because I have a silver account?

I'm about 90% sure the silver account is the problem. Go ahead and buy the year, you'll get some use out of it...especially if you like halo.

you need a gold account to get all the shits needed to play xbox games as well. oh and you must have a hard drive to play online, as well as some og xbox games. btw my gamertag is "LostGamersRUs".... more than 1 person plays online in our house so i though of that one to share among us. G.O.W. is also the ---- when it comes to any online game now. cant get enough of the chainsaw glitch. its so ------- hilarious.

yep, you need a gold account.

as far as buying ----, i only buy map updates, i could give a ---- less about anything else. all it does is waste space on my hard drive. i'm at work today, but tomorrow, i'll add everyone in this thread.

you need the gold account Jago. Did you buy the premium xbox or just the regular one. Im 100% sure if you get the premium xbox you get xbox live for free(for a month or two) and get a memebership for the gold account. Thats prob why you can't play halo

Goddamn those map downloads are ungodly slow. That's one of the things I'm really not looking forward to when I replace my 360. Glad the theif didn't gank my HDDVD drive, wireless remote, and headset??...

My friend just gave me his Halo 2, since he has a modded xbox, so I will have live shortly. I suck horribley bad (like really really bad) though, so I need to put some hours in before I give out my tag lol. I seriously don't know what my deal is, I kick ass at all video games, except Halo 2.

Playing team mode on Gears when you are teamed up with guys you knwo is pretty fukin cool, you look like a giant hose bag in tightywhitys on your couch with a big plastic headset on...specially if you have more then a passing resblance to an elephant, but hey...i gotta be me......how was that for a mental image?

Because, 96.22% of the people that play it frequently know weapon/shield placements, all the little tips and tricks, glitches, and of course practice.

I sucked complete ass when I first played it but then got pretty decent. After I quit for a while I got shitty again.

wow so not only do you have to buy updates to hte games but you have to have an account to play the god damn thing? Is PS3 the same? cause when I buy something, I want to go home and use it. not only use half cause I need to pay 3-4 more times before it will do everything.

It cost $4 to get the multiplayer maps, and a year of Live is $50, not horrible.

Yeah you're welcome to use the screenname on yours because I don't plan on buying a replacement for a while. I only bought it for ------- halo 3 and by time I have extra cash sitting around the beta will be over so I'll just wait. Hit me up and I can give you the info to recover the account on your 360.

As far as having to pay for updates...MOST are free. Any that's required is obviously free. The mappacks only cost money for a few months then they're free as soon as they're added to matchmaking. The only thing I like better about PS3 online is that the games are hosted on servers instead of people's consoles, which cuts way down on "hosting" bitching, modding, completely laggy games, and other bs that's only a problem with player hosted games.

Xbox live is wayyyy farther ahead than sony's network. If they would just upgrade live's download speed it'd be great...

I buy consoles for one reason only. Grand theft Auto. and I just realized how much better teh game is on the PC than the console therfore ---- droping 350+ on a console I think I will buy a new video card and rock the PC.

Do Xbox Titles come out on PC as well?
