Re: Who's looking for a job
$13.00 an hour is what, like $27,000 a year? That might be a decent job to have while your going to college and getting a degree. $23 a month for cable, phone, internet, and access to a van is defintely worth it (your easily saving a few hundred a month with that deal). I wouldn't want to make that a career, but if it's easy work it seems like a pretty sweet deal for a few years.

Re: Who's looking for a job
Friend of mine was a cable installer for a while. He loved the money, but hated the hours. He was an independent contractor with some company that did installs for comcast. He then got hired by comcast as an installer and the hours and stuff got a little better, but he eventually quit. There are a lot of jobs out there that pay the same or better for less labor, even without a degree.

Re: Who's looking for a job
yea, 13 p/h isnt bad for a 19 year old with all those benys its an upgrade for him but a small cut in pay for the older 1. just in gas alone driving to & from work is a big savings
since it finally hit 3.05 a gal they are both starting out as installers but will change, younger one will be running cable mainlines pole-pole and the older will be doing tech support he's the lazy one |
