who is into guns?

i kinda want to get into pistols but im sure i shouldn't make a huge investment right off the bat. i mean, if i get one and end up not using it much, i don't want to be out a grand haha.

so where is a good place to start?

im looking at semi auto, i guess something small and cheap for a first gun.

Re: who is into guns?

go see any of the mexicans down the street and tell them that you want a fully auto pistol for dirt cheap, like ten bucks. when they say ---- no, you tell them your friend is waiting for you to come back, and if you don't - hes going to call the cops. then they will sell you a gun for real cheap and you can go have fun >:D

Re: who is into guns?

But a taurus 45, like 400 bucks, made outta some composite ----, really light.

Re: who is into guns?

for a first gun i'd recomend a 22, the bullets are cheap as ---- and anyone that hates on the bullet being so small hasnt been shot with one, a bullet is a bullet, and one to the head can still kill. I've been eyen those sig 357 semi auto pistols, always loved me a 357 mag.

s1cpurity 02-14-2006 01:38 PM

Re: who is into guns?

Yeah I've got shot in the leg in a hunting accident (no it wasnt Cheny, haha) with a .22 It went straight through my thigh but it still hurt like a ----------er. Alot of people talk ---- on .22's but for the money you really cant beat them. I guess it comes down to what you're gonna be using the pistol for.

He lives in MN, there are probably no Mexicans down the street... Unless you still live in St.Paul, then there are a few.

22 is mos def where it's at.

Re: who is into guns?

---- if you're looking for mexicans go to New Orleans, place is over run with them right now.

Re: who is into guns?

find a nice .22.. or if you want something more powerful a 30-30 or 30.06. bullets are more expensive but they're fun to shoot. I got my 30-30 for 90 bucks from an Amish. nice find.

Re: who is into guns?

smith and wesson makes a gun much like a glock but just 300bones or o. comes in 9mm or 40mm and i think 45. Ive shot the .40 and its very nice.
S&W SW9VE . this ones a 9mm

I love my matched set of Winchester 30-30's.

It'll kill a deer cleanly out a bit over 200yards (Most deer are shot < 200yds). It's killed more deer than anything else.
They have *1/3* the recoil force that a .30-06 does, and about 1/2 the recoil of most 30cal / MAG rounds.
30-30 ammo is a little cheaper.

Hard to find good ammo, but I *love* my new (cough about 80 year old) .303 Lee-Enfield SMLE mkIII.

Start with a little 22 auto. A box of 50 rounds is about $1.75 at wall-mart. As much as I love my larger, older rifles. A 22 will let you plink all day long for a few dollars.
A 1 box/ 20-30 rounds of 30-30 (or about any other 30 cal, or mag rounds) is $11-13.
For that you can buy 350+ .22 rounds.

If you shoot often, or shoot alot, The best thing to do is keep a rag with gun oil on it with the gun. When you finish shooting it, run the rag down the barrel. It won't replace fully cleaning it... But it'll get 90% of the build-up out & not be a pain in the ass to do & keep you from ahving to constantly clean a weapon that see's alot of use.

^^^Dang old timer, do any of those old shooting sticks still work? :P

To the original poster, what exactly are you planning to do with the gun(s)? Protection, hunting, target practice, bank robbery?

Re: who is into guns?

Yes, everything still shoots. The ladies pocket gun & the anniversary peacemaker have never been fired.
I shoot the old .22 Savage a few times a week. It's prone to jamming, but it's old & needs a 100% overhaul. Not uncommon for any older 22 that's been fired alot.
The 30-30's I might shoot once a month, every other. The carbine is nice, but I like the rifle.
I shoot the remmington only on rare occations. I really have no need for a .410 shotgun. I like keeping it around tho. I get offers for it constantly. ;) Good first shotgun LoL!

I have a Beretta 9000s in 9mm as a PDW, but no pictures.

To the original guy, get a 25 auto. It's got the same low price shooting that the 22 rifles have.

Re: who is into guns?

well, for one, i can't shoot anybody till i have a gun. haha

i dunno, i have gotten on this thing lately where i would kinda like to go to a range and at the same time have my own. kinda sucks that you can't do much hunting with pistols. if i get into it enough, i would like to get my hands on a usp tactical pistol, i hear a lot of good things about them. plus, using a carry and conceal permit as photo ID always gets you better service at most establishments >:D.

Re: who is into guns?

ive been dreaming of a decent rifle...never shot a gun but i want to do some target ----, a 22 is the way to go i gather?

Re: who is into guns?

they arnt ideal for hunting, most accurate thing ive shot was a glock and a colt ar15, anything made by glock is great as well as HK, tauraus is like a berreta. for starters get a 9mm.

Re: who is into guns?

I was the same didnt want to get into pistols becasue there so freaking expensive. well a buddy at work got me mine becasue im only 20, and he has a concealed weapons permit so he doesnt have to wait. well i got a hi-point 45 cal pistol for only $161.00 with tax at tri-states. nice gun a little heaver then the expensive ones. the reason for it being so cheap is they just stamp these out not all the hand quality in it. works great i have had it for about two months now. the one thing i dont like about pistols is the lack of acuracy they have. also the company makes 9 mill., 40 cal and all styles that are about the same price or cheaper. so think about this you can either buy one expensive gun or buy two of this guns and be the pimp of the street. trust me the only thing cooler then having a pistol is shooting two at once lol

Re: who is into guns?

http://www.arc.lu/photos/172.jpg

i bought that gun, but mine has a laser sight on the end under the barrel, cost me about 450, holds 2 10 round clips in it, bullpups are tight, they have a very long barrel like a normal rifle, yet theyre much shorter because of the location of the reciever. i modified the clips to accept 13 rounds and 1 in the chamber for a total of 14 rounds.

I have a 1911 Kimber .45 cal. with a 5" barell that I carry. I got it brand new, but I have to say that it was a good investment. Especially with costumer service. When my mag release broke, I called Kimber direct when I needed replacement parts and they sent it out for free, no shipping charge no nothing. :6

Is that a Remington 1100? in .410? If so I'd keep it too. Thats a neat little gun and I understand why you get offers for it!

Jesus christ you could buy a *brand new* .380 at WALMART for $200... What the ---- do you want a broke ass piece of ---- for $139 for.

Re: who is into guns?

My cousin has a 40 cal handgun that he just purchased a few months back, I like it a lot. Good grip, nice shot, powerful and doesnt break your hand when you shoot it either. If you're a girly man, get a 22 cal, they're not bad either.
