who hunts?

i just realized most my friends are beer swillin' good ole boys who hunt or drive race cars or just drink too much. i have never been hunting other than shooting at a bird while i was out shooting one time. so who hunts, what do you hunts and what guns/ ammo do you use?

Re: who hunts?

I know today is the first day of rifle season here in south GA, for deer hunters. I don't hunt deer, but most of the good ole boys down here do.

i use the its coming straight at me law becuase i dont have a hunting license. but i try to shoot anything. but mainly the only things i really go shooting for is birds. ill go camping and bring guns but then its only if theres animals close by. i tried to kill my aunts rat dog one time. i had a plastic construction bag, and a baseball bat but it woke up and ran away from me. im going to get a sks today or sometime this next week. i sold all my guns this last year, and missing them.

Re: who hunts?

yeah you can always count on having a night worth remembering (or forgetting) when your hanging out with rednecks who have way too much beer in them. they feild dressed a roadkill deer in my old apartments parking lot and left the guts on the porch of a lady who kicked her husband out cuz he punched her boyfriend in the face. her husband was a good guy too, he is the kind of guy who would help you out with anything. then they put the head behind one of her wheels on her car. she cried so much the next day. especially since it was one of the few times it actually froze everything here and when she backed up the head made this loud ass popping noise. we laughed for days. even the cops got a good kick out of it cuz she is such a bitch.

Re: who hunts?

I got my first buck last year with a horton. I kill things that are worth eating. I'm not looking for a trophy, just a full freezer.

I just picked up some 147gr. subsonic 9mm hp's. Now I need to make an adapter to put an oil filter on the glock. I don't want to chase this spring's steaks around the neighborhood again.

Any advice on a decent shotgun for small game hunting? And a deer rifle? Especially if you have one for sale/trade..

20ga with a good tight choke for small game, slugs, for larger.
if you gotta use a 12ga then youre just a ---- shot.
rifle? i prefer the 30-06 over the 30-30, punches a more accurate hole. can also use a 6mm (.243) (remington 6mm, 1 in 13.4 twist) but that ---- is soo fast/hostile, itll explode like a pipe bomb upon bone impact.

RotaryGeek 10-21-2007 10:34 PM

Re: who hunts?

30/06 is a damn good gun all around. love mine but its up in utah. gotta find a dealer who will ship it for cheap for me. lol that high point 9mm i made a post about a couple months ago was actually pretty good, havent shot it in a while but the last time i did i was killing goldfish at a pond on my friends ex's land. only problem was if it was too deep the bullet will explode and just make a big ass splash. gotta wait till they are almost on top.

---- the 12 gauge is the ----. you dont even have to aim. just point and kill. leave the riffles to actually having to aim. shotguns are for just pointing and killin

In this day and age is it really so necessary to go track something and kill it, to "maybe" eat it? Even though everyone I know who hunts most definitely eats the entirety of the animal, but still there are supermarkets. Maybe it's just that I see using a gun against an animal with non-projectile weapons is cheating, ---- your gun, hunters who use bow-and-arrow are badass, that is sport. Similarly I fish, I don't enjoy the people that trip out to the gulfstream and hook up on sails and butcher them all, even those under sized. Same with spearfishing, which is the baddest of all badass sports, if you are using a spear gun and you aren't going for a fish that will pull you down for a good couple hundred feet (Amber Jack are a good example) then you sir. are a -----. Freediving hawaiian slinging deep water reef hunters FTW.

why not hunt man? its the hardest of all. not only do you have to kill it but you have to dispose of it so the police wont think its you. the hunt,kill,disposel/cleanup, and run/cover up. that my friend is a real mans sport. lets see you do that for fun. for me ill stick to shooting guns and trying to kill whatever runs out in front of my gun. i dont really hunt i just shoot whatever. usually ends up to be water and random ---- i bring out in the middle of no where. i like shooting the lake when it freezes.

most of the people who say deer hunting is sooooo easy have never shot a deer in their life. blacktail deer hunting is hard, no matter what you use. sitting in a tree stand in a corn field in the midwest shooting a white tail is not hard.

And those are the fags who are always on television covered in deer piss. My friend went for Carribou in Alaska. That ---- is a mission. I would do that, I'm sure black tail are far more elusive, and I have no problem with those that kill and eat them in rational proportion. But driving out and tracking for the day/days is nothing compared to following a herd for weeks on end with a ------- inuit tracker guy. That is a true sport hunt IMHO

It's sport to follow a guy that tracks the animals for you?

Guy wasn't hired, he was the reason my friend was in Alaska, more like a hunting partner, he knew him from the conservation work he'd done. But yes, just being out there "following" that guy is an endurance trial

BigBird 10-22-2007 01:45 PM

Re: who hunts?

Hunting partner and tracker is very different. Tracker is a guy you pay money to put you up, take you out, and basically hand you an animal all you do is pull the trigger, that is gayer than aids.

The guy lives with his tribe in Alaska, he is straight up Inuit, he does it for survival. Sorry I should have been more explicit; but yea he's nuts.

Re: who hunts?

people that track deer and ---- are good people, if you find one who HUNTS solo, ------ spend a day walking around with him. learning the things they do even 5% of what they do will help. id much rather walk around the woods and actually hunt down/locate/wait the 5mins for a shot, than target shoot from a tree stand for 10 hours like lazy faggot ass city slumqueens.

the 'point and shoot, ---- aiming' is the reason you find deer laying in the woods, ungutted and shot. why the ---- go hunting if you cant learn to aim?
