Definately use metal gaskets wherever you can. If you have an uneven mating surface then slap a ton of the ultra-copper gasket sealer on it, but don't always count on the sealer alone. The stuff works wonders but it will burn out and leak badly if things get too hot.

the part that I always have problems with is the wastegate gaskets, I burned them out within a week, so I started using the ultra copper, and it works better than the wastegate gaskets.

The only gasket I don't run is the downpipe gasket.

Was it a metal gasket? How do you burn them out? I've tried the lead coated paper crap ones before, and they usually burn out in about 20 minutes of boostin...the metal one's shouldn't burn out though if they're done properly. Ever take notice of the dsm manifold to turbo gaskets? They're actually 2 pieces of metal folded over and sealed, that way it can squash down and make a tight seal when you torque down the bolts. If you have access to copper sheating or know where to buy some, get some 16 gauge copper and cut your gaskets out of that...works very very nice and the seal is incredible.

the same thing would also work with stainless shim stock. that is what most gaskets are made of anyhow.

Re: who here uses turbo gaskets?

^^exactly. Just go with a thin piece of metal.

I run the stock exhaust gasket, T3 2 header gasket. I don't have a gasket on my DP b/c it is welded in one place to ensure it is tight, lol.

You can get the metal gasket for a T3 for like $8 at checker. They came on a ton of stock cars.

I used the ones that came with the wastegate, and the fire ring ones they suck also. I was on my way to street meeting and blow my wastegate gasket, so I whip out the scissors and cut up a soda can, last through the night, but the next day I had molted aluminum all over my engine ;D

Don't be a dick. Not all of us are all-knowing. Being that we aren't all knowing, as you are, we have to ask questions to gather information, or to re-inforce a doubted/unsure point. It's one of those things that some say so and some don't, so he asked. ---- a lawn mower.
