A friend of mine went to court over a speeding ticket, he was going to plead not guilty, and the cop never showed.. judge dismissed the case

i dont understand? he was GOING to plead not guilty? or did he.

i know in any court the cop doesnt have to show up if you say man judge i wasnt doin that blah blah. he'll say... plead not guilty then and we'll set a court day. the cop will show up...

i got two fines coming, my friends dad is a judge though, so i no some loopholes yea, i'll prob get out of both of them, ----

i heard if cops dont turn in there paperwork within 2 days of writing that ---- then its automatically void, but thats a myth and i dunno if it works or what

Re: Who here has fought a citation?

if its your first offense and your not to worried about it why dont you just go to the PD and pay that ---- and be done with it. its the same as pleading guilty. (personal experience: when I got a "cruising ticket")

if you are worried about it and want it to not show anywhere...go to a lawyer, tell him you cant be in town and you want him to represent you...you dont want the ---- on your record, give him $100 and court fees and walk out of his office worry free. might cost you a little $$ but you will be ok and its better in the long run (personal experience: careless and wreckless and endangerment as posted above)

simple solution.

(from experience)

Re: Who here has fought a citation?

Essentually the process you go to is

Get ticket
Go to plea docket
Pay or fight

Paying is much easier, usually in the plea docket they review your file, tell you how much the ticket will be(judge shoudl review it before hand and give them a $$). In the plea docket the fine is usually the lowest ammount possible for the offense, unless there is reason otherwise. Its easier to ask for driving school, or just take the hit. I'd try to leave driving school for a more serious offense.
