Who drives an Infiniti G20 or has experience with the SR20DE ?
Im picking up a 1992 Infiniti G20 with a JDM SR20DE swap either today or tomorrow. I have read a few things on sr20forum. Mainly, that the weak points on these cars are the transmissions, and dont go over 250whp unless you want problems. One guy had over 400whp on the same engine (built block) for 2 years...and went through 11 transmissions. I dont think that the pistons have valve reliefs, so you cant screw with high lift cams, or high advance. And for tuning...its pretty easy to use the SAFC, but you can get an ecu from Jim Wolf Technologies. But i dont think you can edit them, can you? Its just set with higher limits. For $600, i dont know if thats worth it.
Basically just wondering if anyone has owned or does own something similar, and what theyve done with it. Ive been screwing with Hondas for 2 years, and dont know much about Nissans. Thanks.

(id like to add an sr20 to the turbo projects section by next summer)

Not to discourage you, but my Japan Built (ran the numbers) Nissan NX2000 is the biggest piece of sht ever. You want parts, it's going to the heap in about 2-3 days when our new car is ready.

Knowing a motor is one thing but engine management is another. I've dealt with honda's and map sensors forever and since switching to my corolla and my Z they both use AFM's and then you have some cars that run MAF sensors. Each one has it's pros and cons. I miss my map setups though. Yeah I could go like megasquirt on both but I don't ---- money out so thats not really an option. As for the G20 and all other FWD sr20's is the wheel hop that kills them. JWT ecu's are ripoffs for how much and how long they take to get them. I'd just run a SAFC if I were you. As for HMT setups it's pretty easy since you have the FWD DET's to pick parts off of like ecu, injectors, turbo manifolds, oillines, charge pipings... You've got it pretty easy as just bolting ---- on and their usually pretty cheap on SR20Forum.

SR20DE is a very good engine.. my brother have a primera p10 SR20DE red top. i drove too 100NX (think in usa is NX2000) with SR20DE and drove too S14a with SR20dEt.. i like those engines.. but my hatch stock smoke that stock engine hahaha.
before to know the honda world i did want a S14a w/ sr20det but after to know my hatch w/ b-series i dont have it for none!
they (honda and Nissan) are two different worlds.

My 2000 Sentra Se has an SR20, but the air conditioning is so nice that I haven't commited to turbo yet. I made a post similar to this when I was thinking about it and I believe the safc was the clear no bullshit choice of EM.
