I bought my motor from a very big houston importer, it had the stamp grinded off. The stamp just said d15b from what I recall seeing pics of it and they said the grinded it off because of the confusion since it replaces the d16z6 not the USDM d15b. I hope my motor isnt hot.

A ground off block number is bad business and in CT can get your car confiscated.

In abbreviated form CT law § 14-149 provides that: "Any officer upon discovery of any motor vehicle, the vehicle identification, engine or factory number of which has been mutilated, altered or removed, shall take such motor vehicle into custody. . . . Such officer may take into custody the operator of such motor vehicle and present such operator before a proper court. No such operator shall be discharged from custody until such operator has proved to the satisfaction of the court the ownership of such motor vehicle or such part and such operator's right to its custody, provided any such operator may be admitted to bail. If such operator is unable to establish ownership of such motor vehicle to the satisfaction of the court, the court shall order such motor vehicle or part to be forfeited and turned over to the police department for such department purposes or sold at auction with the proceeds given to such department or agency.”

And there you have it. Wonder how often that statute is used.

My CRX had the stamp grinded off too... can't remember the kids "reasoning". Turns out he stole it from a junkyard :3 but ah well, I didn't find that out til after I sold the engine and tranny to another kid, so hopefully Derrick never gets pulled over and has his engine looked at :3
