Where to get a d16 vtec for cheap?

Looking for an engine to build up or just the block 1.6 sohc vtec for a reasonable price. Where is the best place?

poke around the serious speed shops, people yank those engines out all of the time for motor swaps and ----, so you could probably find one there at a flea market price.

hell yeah man, I just bought a CRX Si block for 200 bucks! from a local import shop. It included the cylinder head and complete intake manifold, minus the distributor and a/c compressor, all of which I didnt need anyways. I only needed the block which I plan to mate with a D16Y8 VTEC head (shooting for high compression)

so I ended up getting extra parts that I could sell later or keep for other reasons. I wouldn't dought if you could find a D16 VTEC with in the same price range. Just remember to ask questions and get a compression/leak test befor you buy anything in this manner. you dont want to end up with a highly abused motor, shop around man, good luck.
