my first car about 11 years ago had a tube in the tire. They did know what the heck it was doing in there since it was wrong type tire for a tube. The car was purchased from in a old farm community.

i guess a better way to phrase my question would be

when did non tube tires become standard on cars in the us?
i got my answer already jeffsciv23 answered it perfect

when was the first non-tubed (radial or bias) or is it when were tube tires NO LONGER OEM EQUIPMENT because i have a OEM spare from a '88 toyota pickup. it's a tubeless bias ply
