So. I'm at work, just downloading a TV show via Bitlord (common torrent software).

I got it capped off @ 50kB/sec cuz I dont wanna raise flags to managers here.

Well. every1 goes out for lunch, lets see what this puppy can do. Fully uncap it no limit and this is the highest it went, levelled off around 30KB/sec lower.

All i gotta say is holy crap!

see the problem with those is that you are also dependant on them.

the way I did mine was to more or less an unlimited bandwidth for receiving because I was transfering data to MANY MANY computers at the same time, rather then putting all my hopes into one server.

proof of my statment: Change servers and watch how much the speed changes.

i didnt record my findings, around 1600 each way.

but my screen shot was sustained over 700 for almost 5 min.

5103kbps down 361kbps up on roadrunner. i live out in the middle of the country though so i dont have any locals bringing my speed down. its also limited by the servers though. on some servers i can download at 7-8 hundred kb/s but most are caped around 545.

we should have a 3d benchmark thread too 8)

Slow. I have 100 megabits up and down, but I'm in Europe so a speed test located in the states won't be all that accurate.
A company in the same building has a trans atlantic fiber that if put to full use will do about 1.9 terabits/sec between UK/Ireland and USA/Canada
