Minnesota is the best... if you like snow and the random ass weather in March.

I haven't been to everystate, but I've been to every region, and I guess it's all personal prefferance. There's people that would never live anywhere than New York, and I could give a ---- less if I ever see that place again. It's prefferance, but I think these would be the things that you would look for:

Weather
Population (Tons of people, or very few)
Quality of Life (good schools, bad schools, ect)
Income possibilities (make this your last choice because the other ones combined OWN this one)

After all the places I've been, my personal preferance makes me want to move to Colorado for a couple years. They don't have crazy winters, but you see snow, they have summer, they have alot of different scenery (mountains, flatland, cities and farms) I see it as the middle ground of everything you could want and not want. They don't have a beach, but they have lakes and ----.

Post up what kind of qualities you're looking for in the above catagories and I'm sure we can put the Dutch on the map. ;)

Living in New York city is different than living anywhere else in the US. NYC can be very intimidating for people not used to that atmosphere but can be heaven for someone who likes that environment

The cost of living is very high in NYC and the surrounding areas. You'd want to stay away from here.

Southwest looks tempting to me. New Mexico, Colorado and Utah looking appealing to me.

Well I'm pretty biased, but I have seen the majority of the western US from texas-montanta to the enter west, and by far I think Oregon/Wash or northern california is the best place to live.

We have decent winters, sometimes a little bit of snow sometimes a alot, but it never lasts long. The summers are not 100+ degrees and filled with smog, they are very mild and not overly humid like everywhere else. There are tons of trees and grass and they are always green, if you abousltly need snow you travel 1.5 hour east and your in the cascade mountains, skiing/snowboading whatever. If the summer isnt hot enough for you, you can travel over the mountains and enjoy a completely different climate, eastern wa/or are beautiful in the summer, well over 100+ filled with tons of lakes and beautiful rivers. We dont have massive hurricanes, earthquakes and over-populated cities either. I dont think I will ever leave the Northwest because I have yet to ever see a place better.

however...

its pouring down rain.. ;)
