I lost my GOOD ($40K/yr) job 3.3 years ago, been doing ok since. Lost my house, sold my Trans Am along with other parts.
Yes, I've been living at home for two years, didn't plan on staying that long. But I've been helping mom alot around the house, dad had passed away 12 years ago.
I was in survival mode 2.5 years ago, what is coming will be nothing I can't handle. Right now there is 4-5 ---- $9 an hour jobs less than a mile away, walk to work if I had too.

I did my 20 years of hard labor in cold warehouses on concrete.
I could have knee surgery but the doc said the pain would be the same, I was best off quitting my job (summer 2004) so when I got canned, it was sorta a blessing.
Only bad thing is I've gained 40 pounds in three years from being a seditary old fart, i.e., sitting on my fat *** gatting fatter!

Had one for 4 years, paid $20/hour, overtime whenever, but the whole building got laid off because of corporate takeover. *******!!
Now I get paid ---- to fab turbo kits and other crap. Oh well, kinda fun I guess.

Tanking paper that is going down in value, which costs twice as much worthless paper to buy the chinese goods. Couple that with jobs leaving, and you have an over supply of workers fighting for half the jobs, which makes salaries go down.
Rising prices of goods, lowered salaries, not a good combo. Especially since government spending is out of control, and they will raise their prices (taxes) to sustain their spending, while we're all making less.
