anymore the newer equipment is like playing a video game. Joysticks control everything and little buttons on the joysticks. A little skill is involved with hand eye coordination, but like after a few weeks of doing it, you catch on quick. I operate our skid steer and backhoe when needed, but we sub out alot of our excavating work.

sho is... but depending on the company, i still have to operate the old ----. like today i ran a backhoe that i had to leave running all day because its next to impossible to start back up, it was even running when they brought it in on the transport haha. the lock for the boom didnt work, the parking brake didnt work, one of the front tires was low, and all they could get me was a 1 foot bucket. shitty ------- day since my laborer was running a wacker and thought it would be cool to smash a 2inch high pressure pvc water line filling a ~10 cubic yard hole in the ground full of water that i got to drain with that very same 1 foot bucket. ugh

makes me really appriciate the nice equipment with climate controls and windows.

well Im a foreman for a company based out of texas.... and all i do is tell ppl what to do... and wonder why its not done..
'
although, I dont have any employees that stayed around, for what little money there paying. after the new year.. so basically, I do nothing, but endure what little cold there is out here..
hopefully, at the end of this month, Ill be taking my cco test, for a hydraulic crane, and maybe the lattice boom.... then off to the union, I go.
