It appears to have two tiny tabs inside of the dock port, supposed to retain the dock connector but I think they also double to retain the internals. The works probably slides out quick and easy, and I could powdercoat the freaking thing camoflage.

Buy, that would be more expensive than $0.23.

I'd probably just use it. Keep the thing in your pocket not to mention you could just claim it was your little sisters/nieces/friends and she gave it to you because she got a new one. People generally don't hate on free stuff.
