What I have done in '05
Thought I would make a thread of all the stuff I did in '05. Havn't posted any of it up yet, so I got off my *** and did it finally.
5spd convesion winter 05, motor build spring of '05, turbo'd it in late summer/fall '05.
1997 D16Y8 as the slave motor. Belonged to my friend steve b4 he melted a piston down. Sold it to Nathan Temple (yes...that Nathan Temple) for $1k, he was lazy and sold the rods out of it. He was 1 slug and some rings away from having a built motor. I bought it for $350 from TB to oil pan. Without rods or pistons.
Crank was ground to match girdle and block, which were line bored. All the clearances are 10 over stock, so buying bearings is easy. Head was rebuilt with OEM parts. slugs are 20 over stock. Used a D16Z6 oil pump instead of a Y8 b/c of better flow. New OEM water pump. Block posted with aluminum studs.
rehoned the cylinders and I had a perfect block ready to go. Sucked putting in the rods. Eagle does not include it in their instructions, but you have to notch your block and girdle. They tell you only after you call their support line. Not a big deal, just nice to know when you buy them rather than mid install.
The whole Set-up ~ $1.5k Thanks to all for the hookups and stuff.
Turbo set-up
DSM 450's
.63/.60 T3 (MT '88 Thunderbird)
Uberdata
CCA Intercooler(3"x 6"x32")
2.5" charge piping (all welded except to TB, IC, and Turbo)
2.5" DP and exhaust to Dynomax "super turbo" muffler (All mandrel)
Short Tubular Mani (CSAddict on HMT)
All of this was made possible through and the HMT TC Crew, and Nathan Temple for selling me a great motor for dirt cheap.
Internals ready to get together. SRP pistons, eagle rods, The one in the middle is an old melted piston we had from Steve's last motor.
Pistons going into the block
Bearings in and lubed, All ready for the crank
crank In
TQ down the girdle
Add the turbo, and go

Re: What I have done in '05
I remember helping pull your engine for that del sol, that thing was completely trashed!
I'll get in on this too.
After fixing/building this car for a year I drove it for a few months before someone offered me a tiddy sum of money, which he promptly wrecked it and parted it out.
The day I picked it up
Me and Ju-on working on it.
Washing a years worth of dust off it.
After selling that car I had a few days to find something else, heres what I ended up getting. lame...
I was fixing this car up I got for free, it was completely neglected and sunk 800 worth or parts into it and a new engine.
The super rare JMD 0.5 VTAK
Pull start
All motor FOO!
I then sold that car to a dusche bag off HT who didn't register the title and has been getting parking tickets...
I now drive this and the first thing I did was get new wheels.

Re: What I have done in '05
Well seeing how the address he gave me doesn't exist and he misspeled Steele county ("Steel") that won't happen. The last ticket he got was in early Nov and the tabs expired later that month so hopfully things will have taken care of them selves when he had to show up to the DMV.

Holy ---- Cray since you brought up Nate he came out of nowhere like a couple of weeks ago and pm'd out of nowhere. Was like last march maybe last time I talked to him after I gave him a free A6 longblock along with a boatload of other ---- and never heard from him again. Went on bragging on how he's got two boosted rex's. Then I asked him when I was ever gonna get anything from him for all that ---- and I haven't heard from him since. He still goes by SSL2K for his AIM name. Rat bastard and all I did for that kid. Damn I haven't fully boosted a car for a year now. Now the way it's looking I won't be for the next couple of years wtih my budget on a severe limit with the wife in school full time now. Should have a fund for my hatch to get boosted again and donate some parts to me! lol.

Re: What I have done in '05
things I did car wise in 05
rims, suspension,
first turbo setup blew motor after 1100miles untuned
6puck clutch, motor mounts, the usual setup,
second turbo setup second motor blew up in 100miles or less I am now nicknamed hitler cause I can cause more damage to an engine faster than hitler could
don't want to list everything cause I did alot and learned alot
cray you did alot too, I went to my first hmt meet when you did the auto to manual swap
