if you have a boosed civic and you buy upgraded axles but knowing your car makes 200whp but you buy the 400 whp to b safe is that rice?
it still serves a purpose on the car to put the power to the pavement unlike other purposeless items i.e.(useless spoilers, neon)

Wow, that's not what I meant. Think about it as a style of dress - you see people not really comfortable in their clothes or wearing something rediculous, not because they want to persay, but because people say it's the new thing to do. That applies here. It's a lose definition anyway. Hell, I follow trends myself, but it's because they match up with my personality.

Besides, to the average person, any non-stock japanese car is Rice it seems...

I think rice is buying stuff that is not practical, or just looks like ass. but then again, i think there is a rare breed who could be called "ricer sleepers", where they look gay as ----, but are faster than your rich uncles new corvette

Call me a ricer, but I like Team Rice A LOT. They have some crazy show cars that are tastefully done up (no ugly, non-flowing body kits and nasty wheels), and have the power to back them up. That orange EK on their site is a street car running 10.9's. :o
