Yeah, so I'm taking my cams out and what's this? Oh, it's a nice broken cam cap. >:( ::) I might be mistaken, but doesn't that mean the head is garbage? If I were to get a new set I would have to align bore it and ----? Meaning I would have to spend more than the head is worth to fix it? Correct me if I'm wrong here. ::)

Hey Julio, you want a ZC head? ;) I give you good deal. Fie dolla!

you could get another one and have it line bored, for way more $ then you could get another head for.

Ouch I've never seen one snap like that. I accidentally overtorqued one of the bolts that hold those in, and snapped it on my buddy's motor. Whoops :o

Yeah, about that, my boss has me setup in a suite at the Avi Resort this weekend. I'm going to lose all kinds of money. :(

word bitch, good ol' single cam, it'll never do you wrong (and if it does you kick that bitch to the curb and get another one) you know, like women.

mmm
---- that i'd just go to the junkyard and yank that cap off of a 88-89 integra and if it fits...run that ----...

there isn't bearings on the cams... so it shouldn't matter...

---- just buy a new one and call it a day

Dr.Boost 10-13-2004 09:08 PM

Re:What do you do when you break on of these?

The closest junkyard is about 200 miles away. :-\

I'm sick of this motor anyways. I'm done with it. I have yet to take the bottom end apart and see what's worng there. ::) I can't wait....

Since it's only one of the however many are in there, get another one and as long as the cam spins, run it. ;D

Yeah, I'll try that. :P

The strange thing, that cap sits on the exhaust cam on the #3 slot which operates the exhuast valves for the #2 cylinder, which I got a 30psi reading from. :-\ You can see marks on the cam from it wearing on it. I doubt that one cap would affect anything really, but it's kinda strange.....
