What do you all use to clean your motors.
my b18 has severe black ---- all over it. Engine degreaser just doesn't cut it. What method do you guys use?

Re: What do you all use to clean your motors.
after some degreaser, i usually bust out a bush and clean the oil and dirt off the best i can. have you tried some brake clean?

Re: What do you all use to clean your motors.

Re: What do you all use to clean your motors.
i respect that, its just gonna get dirty again. but when you put so much money into it, you wanna make look like its worth that money.

Re: What do you all use to clean your motors.

|
Re: What do you all use to clean your motors.
I used 4 bottles of Carb cleaner on a whole engine that was covered in oil.. Works awesome!
|
Re: What do you all use to clean your motors.
I usually go to the locar car wash ($3.00 for 7 munites). I spray that green engine cleaner on to the engine bay for 3 minutes, let it sit for 2 and wash it for 2 usually removes 90% of all the grease and dirt.
|
Re: What do you all use to clean your motors.
---- if im sticking a pressure washer under my hood
I personally go with motomaster engine degreaser and a wire brush I spray mine down probably twice a year and just never let it build up |
Re: What do you all use to clean your motors.
wire brush wins everytime, who cares tho it adds to the sleeper factor to have a dirty motor that looks like its been in there since it came out of the factory.
|
Re: What do you all use to clean your motors.
brake cleaner is everymans friend an works on everything
|
Re: What do you all use to clean your motors.
I'd say just worry about getting the thing running.
|
Re: What do you all use to clean your motors.
Brake clean works pretty good. Usually takes around 5 cans to do a good job. You get a free buzz with every can so it makes it worth it in the end. :S

Re: What do you all use to clean your motors.
Grill cleaner does a pretty badass job at removing grease and carbon. Spray it on, let sit for a couple minutes, brush and wash off with hot water. Leaves your parts nice and shiny.
|
Re: What do you all use to clean your motors.
i use oven cleaner. spray it on and let it sit for 10min, then rinse with a hose

Re: What do you all use to clean your motors.
purple power and a wire wheel on an electric drill.
works great. Its all I use. |
Re: What do you all use to clean your motors.
purple power makes the outside of the engine look like ----.. Now for oil pans, gurdles, and anything that is oil stained, but as far as the outside of the engine.. Simple green a few times should wear it down good.
