To the OP, what size inter cooler do you have? Sounds like you have one that is entirely too big.

the ic is a 12in X 24in X 3in
its not that big imo, but i try to keep the car as sleeper as posible... so id like the ic all the way under the bumper/ and i dont want tohave a big hole in the bumper like some you fools do..
thats the ic mounted unless i cut completly thru the bumper suport it isnt going higher, and this is my daily driver, "when its running" so i like to keep the saftey stuff on there

seeing and repairing badly smashed up cars every day (auto body) there was no way i was removing my rebar
cut it in 1/2 welded back up added some angel iron and closed up the box sections
oem isnt bad but the cheap after market ones are crap :1

If I had a huge intercooler and had to cut into the bumper support, I'd weld something on to brace it. A bumper support is more useful than a few inches of a FMIC that isn't getting airflow anyway.
