Went to the Track Last night!
2.1 60'
14.00 @98.26mph. First time down this season. Had to let up in Second due to bad wheel hop!
After that they jumped up by .5 sec and couldn't get it back until I blew a chargepipe coupler and had to call it a night.
Killed a 98 V8 Firebird
71 Chevelle,
Lost to countless 11-12 sec mustangs.

On the 14sec run, just happen to be the only run I datalogged, I hit 8.65-8.75psi on the 14b wiht my 3" exhaust on. My AFr is high 10's at 3500-5000rpm and then goes to mid 11 after, so I'm still a bit rich.
The reason my times got worse is because that was the only good run I made it a closed up DP. I pulled off my side exit after that, I took me a few runs to catch it but I was loosing boost up top, I close up the DP and the blew my Charge pipe so the fun was over.
Although it still did 15.1sec on street tires, spinning a tiny bit N/A! Not bad I thought as the Chargepipe that went was pre-intercooler so That is one big air restriction, now with the blown coupler I was still make -1in/hg-0.5psi.
Falken Azenis were my tires. I was still fighing for traction all night, I even spun my slicks in 2 gears. I had the PSI too high and didn;t have a chance to make enough runs to play with them enough.
****? Are you running a B right now, or building your D? i can't rememeber?

Re: Went to the Track Last night!
I almost went last night, would have been my first trip to the drag strip and I used to be into muscle cars 15-20 yrs ago , I'm going Wednesday instead. I'm not trying to make any killer times, I'm just going for cheap tuning opportunity, $10 so why not.
In GRM this month they do a big tire test, and for the original Azenis they say they work best as cold as possible, some guys even hose them down with cold water before a run, so whatever you do don't warm up the tires before your run.
I also run Azenis.

Re: Went to the Track Last night!
Ya, but I didn't have mine set up. I order to fully utilize the traction bars, A preload must be applied inorder for them to completely eliminate wheel hop. These are things along with the slick's pressure I was hoping to set up while I was there, but again blowing charge pipes, and the mass amount of people there, I was unable to dial my car in. I have to find another night when it is not so busy.
My local tack only opens for "Street Wars" once a month instead of last years every Wensday night, so there is a TON of people going out. My friends is in the series there so he might get me in on a regular Racer's test and tune night where there is less people, but also the 6-7sec big dogs out also.
