It the max psi the tire can handle. The recommended pressure for your tires should be in your manuel or gas cap. I have mine at 32-36 in the rear and 30-34 in the front depending on what time of the year.
You don't believe me?
Think about it like this, air expands, so why are you gonna fill it to max load? Is it a good thing for it to expand at max load?
