Went to the sweet 1/8 mile drags + drift + autocross event wooooo
 

my car was runnin real good, i havent put my drag radials on any wheels yet, so it was sweet 245/50/r16 street tires for me. launching off idle i lose traction through first and through second. but if i let off and got back on it real fast once i hit second i could hook sometimes.

i was running 7-6lbs, my best time was 8.33 @ ?? w/ 2.4 60 foot they didnt have mph times :1 which was lame. i hate to guess but i think i was goin about ~95-100mph. cause i was in 3rd gear at about 4k rpms and at 5k its 110mph.

i did the autocross a couple times which was pretty lame and pretty fun at the same time with the auto trans. i broke my seat the first drag run i did, in the same place. the stud pulled out of the floor again. then i went to the autocross and the whole seat bracket broke and i flew all over the inside of the car. it was lame LOL. i went all the way up onto the trans tunnel, then back down against the door, and i slammed my head on the window LOL. then i hammered the gas and the seat almost went back into the back seat area and i couldnt reach the pedals and barely the steering wheel LOL. you can see in the video where i lock up the front brakes is when the seat broke and i started to fly around LOL...

it was pretty fun... if i got a 1.9 60 foot i would be well into the 7s
and a little more boost (jeff thinks im dreaming) and some slicks i want to run a 6.9999999 :P

8.3's is slow. We were turning that on a stock LS swapped Civic with a 65 shot last summer.

id let off in 2nd and get back on it and still spin.

i got sideways at the 300ft mark

haha ya, they have the super drifto event too, some of them were pretty good at it most of them didnt have the balls to spin the tires over w/o clutch drop/e brake pulls

i lit em up on the straight just floorin it in 2nd to start my "drift" LOL

I wanted to ride in the car with Johnny to get some in car vids, but he wasn't too hot for that idea

I would have been really freaked out if I was in the car when his seat broke, with him flying over to my side, into the door, into the back of the car... would have been a sweet video though!

with a decent launch and 7lbs im into the 11s :)

1.9 60 foot id be sittin a lot prettier. 2.5-2.760 foots kill me :)

I lost count of how many hondas down there were getting smoked by large chevy trucks.... yeah, they're real fast and Johnny's car is slow ::)

I'd say he did good with the poor traction he gets from street tires

8.33 with 2.560 foot burning off through 2nd gear trapping 100mph.

8.33 = about 12.9 1/4

w/ 1.9 60 foot 8.33 = 7.7 1/8 which is about ~12.1

not too shabby for all stock motor and 7-6lbs

b16 crx = loses to me by 15 cars :)
i got eliminated by a srt4 on the first round of bracket racing, i redlighted :1 but i beat him by about 10 cars :)

haha very true, that swapped crx got toasted by a huge ass truck with at least 40 inch tires on it.

8.3 is not that bad of a 1/8 esp when you figure in the 2.5 60 foot.

my car is a 12 flat car at 7-6lbs with a 1.9 60 foot :)

W/ those 1/8th and 60ft times I would predict 12.1-2-3s w/ a 1.9 60. That would deff. smoke a B16'd CRX; by more than a few cars.
I did my 11.79 w/ a 1.9 & 7.7.

damn i knew i should have rolled down there lastnight and broke in those slicks i bought. would have been cool to meet you random. If it is sunny next friday i will be there after work to get some launches in before the next import event at PIR.

I wouldnt be gauging you running low 12's @6psi on a real track with real tires by what you ran at a 1/8th mile track that isnt even really setup with a accurate time system on street tires.

Johnny had a serious look in his face when he said he could run 6's out there with slicks.... :8

And lets rephrase this... because there was no Autocrossing out there, there was no real course, it was a drifting event in a half ass figure 8 course. This is the 2nd week they have done it, so they really dont know wtf they are doing out there. Everyone was trying to drift like they see on TV and it was retarded, there were some ------ed out jdm 240's they were ok, but the Crown Vic cop car stole the show IMO, hahah his peg leg drift with the spot lights on was just choice.

For 30 bucks 1/8th Mile & Drifting its ok I guess, you can definatly practice your launchs, I'm just not a big fan of going into the right bank at 90mph on a fwd with slicks. :3

there is no part throttle with my ignition setup. part throttle would cause a large advance in timing and most likely blow gaskets

good ---- johnny, man you guys are lucky, for a local event here in sd for drifting, its 150 bux... the 1/8th drags are only 20 bux tho, i can show you a few pics of me at the local dorifto event if you dont mind me posting them... i dont like to show them to most people cuz everyone jus likes to tlak ---- lol
