so I did end up buying the Jetta.

paid more for it than the gal originally asked for it because of someone at work also wanted it and we ended up in a "bidding war" along with the dealership wanting to buy it to (which they would just take to another state and get a clean title for it and resell it for a lot more).

ill get pictures later today and post them up.

$950 was the final agreed upon amount.

and on top of that, i did NOT have a salvaged title, thats why i paid more for it.

you just got one HELL of a deal. there's no reason you can't make 4-5 thousand on this.

i completely agree.

as soon as she said that it did not have a salvage title, i just quitely said ok I have the cash when your ready. couple hours later the title was in my hands.

last night i managed to cover up the sunroof "hole" with some black duct tape for the time being. when I have more time, i am going to run to the junk yard and grab a new one and put it in soon.

the flat tire will be fixed today and no more spare tire

I also fixed the headlight that was out last night. one tail light is still out because the 24hr wal mart didnt have the right one and the parts stores were closed. so that will get fixed today.

i am going to clean her up some today and then get some pics and post them up.

Yeah i dunno know about that. maybe a grand more than you paid for it sure but there were a few VR6's i turned down cause they wanted 3k or up for their 120K+ millage car.

Mine is a 95 but everything works just needs a headliner with 101K for 2900. no way id pay twice as much for a car with 40K more miles.

Not saying you didn't get a good deal jo. just saying 5k profit is a little optimistic.

i do agree that 5k would be optimistic, however, with all the options this has, in just "good" condition, it would sell through a private party for $6000, with the body in excellent shape, it would be just about $7000

granted, i know i wouldnt ever get that price, but they do sell for 5500-6000 regularly around where I live.

SRP from a dealer for this car in good condition with everything fixed is $8500+
