Re: VR4 owner new to the boards

I hate someone who thinks their ---- is the fastest. I mean it's not a Bugatti Veyron ::). The thing I'm saying about my car is that it is a 90's era supercar (cost 32,000 in 91 and 60,000 in 99) all wheel drive, all wheel steer, electronic exhaust (tour to sport mode), an active aero with a speed related wing and front air dam that moves depending on how fast you are going, when it came out it was the leading edge and still has alot to offer, yes they could have made it lighter, but the car was intended as a grand tourer, like a bmw 745il, for long, very fast comfortable cruises. Its considered Jap muscle but not a sports car due to all the luxury items and weight. It's a jack of all trades. Like your car is a rally racing car, designed and built for fast exits out of curves and turns, for grip and stability on all surfaces.

Nothing like a fast Honda to wake ----------ers up tho, huh. I mean, if I was to race a civic tonight and get beat, I would be humbled and astounded, bc they're not too many really fast Honda's around. My car runs mid 8's in the 1/8. 1st time to the track I ran a 13.7 completely stock on a motor with over 200k!!!!! I beat a 2004 GTO my first time at the track, beat him twice (350hp one, not 400 hp 2005 model) completely stock. I do believe that my awd carried me to victory with 1.7 60' times on falken street tires. He should've beaten me I believe, brand new car and all, he just kept getting 2.3 and 2.4 60' and that hurt him.

For the record, my car isn't THAT great. There are some BADASS TT'S, complete with all kinda mods, rims, suspension, and big ass turbos on 3si. My car has stock wheels, susp. (good ass susp. stock, just a little wheel gap), and stock turbo's. I am about to start modding her some more, rims, springs, and the new turbo's, and maybe a dsm smic, they are better than the stock vr4 intercooler)

Anyway, enough about my ----, I wanna hear some #'s form some of the fast folks on here. davciv, I like the sti, way better than the new one with the tribeca 9 (subbies new suv) front end. The old bug eyes are great!

slos13, where ya at? talk to me brother.

I have a tacoma, and would totally kill you in a race.

If the race happened to be the fastest to haul 10 sheets of plywood home from the hardware store ;D Otherwise, can I have a ride?

There's a few guys here with fast hondas. Most of us just have them as daily drivers, with a little more punch. Most could be consider quick running mid to low 13's. It's all a matter of where you are. Here in Florida, central and south florida, fast Hondas are everywhere, luckily they are taken over the riceness, so it's getting better, but you still see the guy with a fart can in his DPFI hatch thinking he's the ----.

I have a few friends with hondas in the low 13's all motor, and there's a few guys running 12's with turbos. Not too bad for street cars. That's sort of my goal with the integra you see in the picture. Swapped the engine a few weeks ago, and I'm planning on some things soon, Just enough to break 13's on a daily driver.

I almost bought 1. Fun cars but, tranny problems are a bitch. A local guy here has 3 all high hp monsters, and he blows trannies like nothing

Re: VR4 owner new to the boards

you can have thoes cars in the high horsepower range and not blow trannys. you just shouldent be as agressive on all wheel drive transmissions as 2 wheel drive trannys. Like not dumping the clutch from 6 grand. or shifting realy hard.

Re: VR4 owner new to the boards

you'd win hands down on the plywood haul, of course if I welded a ball to the rear of the vr4, I got the torque for hauling.lol

davcivic, hell 13's are quick in any car man. The new gto I ran ran a 14.0 and 13.9 ::) It's not balls fast but it's gonna outrun almost any regular production car (exception, c5 c6 corvette, porsches, ferrari's, ls1 f-bodies, and most stock mustangs, my wife drives and 02 Mustang gt, k&n, 4:10 gears, and flows.

I dont care about having the absolute fastest car, especially on the dragstrip. I like a freeway run, so we can see balls and abilities of the car's total spped and hp, but I dont condone traffic racing, latenight runs where it's mostly empty are my realm.

Gotta go to work, I'll be back tonight, and I'm enjoying taling with you guys. :y :6

Some guy in town is running 12.9 on an all motor 3000GT. It's pretty impressive.

I don't really like the cars though, I've seen way too many tranny issues from them, and they're a DSM to boot =p

Then again my car isn't too much special either, running in the mid-low 14's with a stock B16. I've pegged out my speedometer (125) and it wasn't walking all over the road or anything. I wasn't scared.

some local guy has his street driven built 3000gtVR4 and runs low 11s. Car is pretty nice, good to see another one on here too. I really like them and would consider getting one if it wasnt a DSM.
