Mods are minimal, k&n filter, new engine, HKS EVC IV boost controller, walbro 255 lph fuel pump, A-pillar Phantom Autometer Boost, and A/F, dash gauges oil, coolant, voltage. Stillen downpipe. 395 at crank 310awhp. >:D

Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. ;D

Upload them to imageshack.us, copy the link and post them inbetween the image tags (be sure to use imageshacks resizing tool if they're too big)

Cool car though, I love 3000gt's. Welcome

90dx boost is set at 11.5 psi or 14.5 psi, two settings on my ebc. AbaZ, no, a twin-turbo 3.0 liter dohc engine guides my sled, and for the record it's awd and all-wheel steer, only 7500 made from 91-93, 7500 for 94-99, pretty rare, and an actual japanese muscle car. I'm set to get some new turbo's (15 g's and a fmic) to put me at about 500awhp. If your making jokes about my car, they are REALLY funny, haha, lmao.

Re: VR4 owner new to the boards

Minor Threat, how fitting. I came on this board bc I thought it would be cool to talk to some guys who are too poor to buy a turbo, have to african-american engineer a turbo kit, which I thought took a lot of ingenuity(let me know if the words get too big for you,k?) BTW if you drive a Honda (of which I have an 02 Accord EX) you should'nt be such a dick. My VR4's lugnuts take more torque to tighten than your car makes.

Abaz, lets not get off on the wrong foot.

Everyone else, if ya wanna be a dick, dont. I didn't come on here to start ----.

I came on here to maybe learn something. And that something wouldn't be arguing with some young dickheads over the computer.

Respect to all the fast car owners and people with some civility. If you'll read my first post, you'll see my intent on this board. :6

Re: VR4 owner new to the boards

VR4 around 3800 pounds, supra weighs 3600. My car is a twin-turbo awd car, not a n/a fwd 222hp car. It came w/ 300hp stock. it now has 395. That is not a great amount. I just watched a turbo civic vid on dyno w/ 802 hp. I LIKE HONDAS. they are nice for what they are. AND they ARE light and can be made as fast as anything. My car is a Sports car and yes there is japanese muscle, skyline, supra, sti, evo, rx7, 300zxtt, 3000gtvr4, nsx, and maybe I missed a few. Yes the car is heavy and stable at high speeds. I have had my car up to 150(it had plenty more) and it was very stable due to weight, width, and electronicly controlled suspension. I would like to see a civic or crx run safely at those speeds.

So, anyway, if there is anyone who would like to talk about their car instead of mine, I would love to. I KNOW THERE ARE FAST-ASS HONDAS. I'm not dissing your cars, so dont diss mine, If you would like to have a debate or discussion, then by all means, lets. ;D

Re: VR4 owner new to the boards

AbaZ, I haven't ever been in a fast Honda. My wife owned a 92 accord that we put intake exhaust rims and clear lights all around (white car with white 18's). Not fast though. My daily driver is my 02 accord and its stock. I watched a video of a civic keeping up with a viper (viper guys were very suprised :o)

My friend Tim is a honda freak. He has 01 v6 accord that he's about to turbo and i will tell him about this site tomorrow.

HaHa on the van, but let's see your real car ;Dthe fast one. yeah i guess i was testy, i came on here in peace and actually didn't expect smartasses at 3 in the morning (should've tho, lol)

I will be researching some of these projects, I'm sure I could get some insight on my own car.

Welcome new guy, we always talk ---- to new people, is the iniciation period...don't worry about it too much, but don't be dissing the board and some of our setups. It's mostly about function, things don't have to cost thousands to work fine.

I always liked the 3000gt that was my dream car when i started high school, I always said I was getting one, someday. But didn't.
If you want to talk cars, it's cool. Fact is the car is heavy, and even with 300 stock HP they where not that fast, for it's time, they where, but not anymore. With some work they could be incredible. I've seen a few with 500hp, track videos and magazines. Not too bad.

For my cars look at signature, AWD 300whp/300lb/tq on 3100lbs of metal.

Harddriver, I like your car. This site is cool, but its very heavily honda, so a change up is cool.

AWD and steer? that is crazy. I would like to drive one sometime.

yeah there's been a few nights where the V8 boys start laughing at the kid with a 4dr 4th gen civic, with slicks and on the "fast lane". Then he goes and runs a low 11 second pass and people start dropping their beers and ----.

it's incredible what can be done to a little engine. No doubt they are capable of great things, but some people prefer other things.

Re: VR4 owner new to the boards

i walked a sti at 140, the gearing on sti's just dont have the topend I like but it's a great car. the sti was neck and neck with me until we reached 135-140, i suspect the gearing to be the decidiing factor on that race.

Yeah I wasn't knocking ---- until the ---- started knocking me. Anyway, I wasn't claiming that my car is unbeatable, I mean c'mon 310awhp is not that much, it's faster than most production cars, but we all know dough+time=speed. I'm sure there are hondas here who can beat my car. I like my car bc it's rare, very exotic looking, and of course can be made fast as hell for a street car. Vr4's are currently in the 10's not 6's or 7's like some Honda's, but almost every vr4/ttstealth you see will have full interiors, and not be gutted. It's a great street/highway car.

Anyway, I came here to hear about OTHER cars so lets see some fast ass hondas fellas.

BTW Im from Alabama, living in Louisiana

Haha, oh the good old 3000gt's. I remember a local in a stealth tt got butthurt when josh lit his tits up on the highway last summer. His words were something like, "------- idiot, I wasn't even racing. Doesnt he know that my car is TWIN TURBO? God, he has an integra- like it's not even in the same class." I like those cars a lot though, its just funny how cocky some people can get. Welcome to the site, can't wait to see that bitch hit 500awhp :6

Re: VR4 owner new to the boards

preciate it fellas, maybe you guys aren't so bad after all. ;D z24, describe the run against the stealth for me if you could. I'm not doubting you, a lighter car with close to or more horsepower would be able to beat the vr4/stealth in a certain power band (if it has alot more horsepower, well then, it's a murder). Vr4 is great from a stop and then great from a high-speed roll bc they have tall ass gears. Stock they are limited to 150 something (1st gen, 2nd to like 160 something), of course with upgraded turbos and the fuel to support it, these are 10-11 sec cars that go 170 to 180 (gearing is limited on 1st gen to 205, snd gen 230, you have to have the hp to overcome the wind-resistance to achieve that high of speed. Another thing, if the tt is not healthy or the boost is low (8:1 comp stock motor, ready for high-boost, engines can hold 30ish psi :o, my car runs at 14.5 psi highest setting, stock boost setting is 9psi 1st gen, 11psi sec gen (with a little nipple taken out of boost soleniod then 1st gen has same boost as 2nd gen).

Of course, a real man and racer would admit when he's been beaten, so people will take him seriously, bc if you have no honor for the truth, then you can have no respect from your peers. I hate all excuses except my car is broken. If your car breaks while racing, other man wins, but it's not a true kill if car dies before results are in. IMHO. ;D

Re: VR4 owner new to the boards

Definately a lot of potential, the main problem, which all car brands have in one way or another, are the kids that say thing like, yeah your Honda has a turbo, but my 3000gt has twin turbos, so I'm faster than you. Just like those that say I have 4 more cylinders so my car is better.....

I like anything fast, and do not associate myself with a specific brand. Honda in my opinion have the most aftermarket support, so most people go with them, but it's not the only thing out there.

On my car, before upgrading the turbo, I went and estimated 155mph, the manual WRX has no speed limiter, its gear limited to around 165, but the speedometer only goes to 145. In my run it went back to zero. I was running a guy that thought he was fast on an Audi A4 I think, the 1.8 turbo. He quit at around 110 car lenghts behind me, I wanted to prove a point.

HARDDRIVER76 01-05-2006 02:38 PM

Re: VR4 owner new to the boards

I hate someone who thinks their ---- is the fastest. I mean it's not a Bugatti Veyron ::). The thing I'm saying about my car is that it is a 90's era supercar (cost 32,000 in 91 and 60,000 in 99) all wheel drive, all wheel steer, electronic exhaust (tour to sport mode), an active aero with a speed related wing and front air dam that moves depending on how fast you are going, when it came out it was the leading edge and still has alot to offer, yes they could have made it lighter, but the car was intended as a grand tourer, like a bmw 745il, for long, very fast comfortable cruises. Its considered Jap muscle but not a sports car due to all the luxury items and weight. It's a jack of all trades. Like your car is a rally racing car, designed and built for fast exits out of curves and turns, for grip and stability on all surfaces.

Nothing like a fast Honda to wake ----------ers up tho, huh. I mean, if I was to race a civic tonight and get beat, I would be humbled and astounded, bc they're not too many really fast Honda's around. My car runs mid 8's in the 1/8. 1st time to the track I ran a 13.7 completely stock on a motor with over 200k!!!!! I beat a 2004 GTO my first time at the track, beat him twice (350hp one, not 400 hp 2005 model) completely stock. I do believe that my awd carried me to victory with 1.7 60' times on falken street tires. He should've beaten me I believe, brand new car and all, he just kept getting 2.3 and 2.4 60' and that hurt him.

For the record, my car isn't THAT great. There are some BADASS TT'S, complete with all kinda mods, rims, suspension, and big ass turbos on 3si. My car has stock wheels, susp. (good ass susp. stock, just a little wheel gap), and stock turbo's. I am about to start modding her some more, rims, springs, and the new turbo's, and maybe a dsm smic, they are better than the stock vr4 intercooler)

Anyway, enough about my ----, I wanna hear some #'s form some of the fast folks on here. davciv, I like the sti, way better than the new one with the tribeca 9 (subbies new suv) front end. The old bug eyes are great!

slos13, where ya at? talk to me brother.

Re: VR4 owner new to the boards

There's a few guys here with fast hondas. Most of us just have them as daily drivers, with a little more punch. Most could be consider quick running mid to low 13's. It's all a matter of where you are. Here in Florida, central and south florida, fast Hondas are everywhere, luckily they are taken over the riceness, so it's getting better, but you still see the guy with a fart can in his DPFI hatch thinking he's the ----.

I have a few friends with hondas in the low 13's all motor, and there's a few guys running 12's with turbos. Not too bad for street cars. That's sort of my goal with the integra you see in the picture. Swapped the engine a few weeks ago, and I'm planning on some things soon, Just enough to break 13's on a daily driver.

I almost bought 1. Fun cars but, tranny problems are a bitch. A local guy here has 3 all high hp monsters, and he blows trannies like nothing

jinxy 01-05-2006 03:10 PM

Re: VR4 owner new to the boards

you can have thoes cars in the high horsepower range and not blow trannys. you just shouldent be as agressive on all wheel drive transmissions as 2 wheel drive trannys. Like not dumping the clutch from 6 grand. or shifting realy hard.

HARDDRIVER76 01-05-2006 03:13 PM

Re: VR4 owner new to the boards

you'd win hands down on the plywood haul, of course if I welded a ball to the rear of the vr4, I got the torque for hauling.lol

davcivic, hell 13's are quick in any car man. The new gto I ran ran a 14.0 and 13.9 ::) It's not balls fast but it's gonna outrun almost any regular production car (exception, c5 c6 corvette, porsches, ferrari's, ls1 f-bodies, and most stock mustangs, my wife drives and 02 Mustang gt, k&n, 4:10 gears, and flows.

I dont care about having the absolute fastest car, especially on the dragstrip. I like a freeway run, so we can see balls and abilities of the car's total spped and hp, but I dont condone traffic racing, latenight runs where it's mostly empty are my realm.

Gotta go to work, I'll be back tonight, and I'm enjoying taling with you guys. :y :6

Some guy in town is running 12.9 on an all motor 3000GT. It's pretty impressive.

I don't really like the cars though, I've seen way too many tranny issues from them, and they're a DSM to boot =p

Then again my car isn't too much special either, running in the mid-low 14's with a stock B16. I've pegged out my speedometer (125) and it wasn't walking all over the road or anything. I wasn't scared.
