I don't think the poles shifting will have a cataclysmic effect on Earth. The poles have shifted probably hundreds of times in the past. The only ones fucked are animals like birds or fish that use magnetism to find their way around. But ---- them anyway. We might lose some things we take for granted today, like GPS and television. But as a whole, most of the species will survive with minimal losses.

Well that's the thing man, the rock they found with opposed striations was older than the precambrian rock it was found in.

i.e. the last time the poles shifted there was no life..... because the poles shifted. :S

yeah on top of that if the pole shift does happen.. and the sun itself is at Solar maximum on 2012... say hello to the full rays of the sun... with no van Allen radiation belt protecting us.

back to the stone ages for mankind yet again.

just like the last cataclysmic event.. the Flood during the time of noah.. not only that. but it is assumed that the last shift was not a reversal but a full 90 degree shift.

and then the Americas could be like Atlantis or Lemuria.
