the motor in the srt4 and the ecotec motor are proven powerformers, the direct injection, i wonder how much that'll cost to mod or tune

I agree the Ecotec is a great engine with alot of potential and I really hope GM ditches the lame supercharger as the Cobalt would be so much better with a turbo.The Ecotec has direct injection and a turbo in the new Soliste[sp?] that is coming out shortly.The VW appeals to a crowd that still wants refinment even in a compact car.Really the VW I dont see being on the same shopping list as someone looking at a Cobalt,SRT4 or Civic SI.

WTF crawled up your ***, you must have gotten smoked by a Beetle or something. Anyways, you'll find out how much direct gasoline injection costs to mod soon enough because within 7-10 years, every engine released will have it and fuel injection as we know it will be the way of the carburator. I can tell you really don't know wtf you're talking about and just hating on the car for the hell of it, because VW engines are regularly just boosted with 2 headgaskets and push 25 psi to them and go. The 2.0t is most likely almost the same engine as the 1.8t and those are known to get as much hp as you stated on the stock block also.

ive only lost one race and it was to a svt cobra mustang, and i have NEVER lost to a VW.

VWs are garbage. it takes them 4 million dollars to build a car thats fast
