ok, wow.

i thought i didnt know anything.

have any of you ever seen the device that pumps smoke into the intake manifold.

thus pressurizing it, then the smoke comes out the vacuum leaks.

i mean c'mon guys, are you all ------- retarded?

and who ever said this would be happening when the car is running.

that goes against the entire idea of checking for leaks.

if the engine is sucking air then the smoke would just be sucked into the engine.

idk, seems fairly simple to me. just cheaper than buying the actual machine.

typing errors aside i believe this is the only one of you who understands what im talking about

ok dude

your diagram shows a pop bottle hooked up to the tb with dry ice/water to make smoke...
that will not pressurize the intake.. thqats the point i was trying to make

what happens when you put dry ice and water in a bottle and cap it?

it pressurizes the bottle, then bang, a dry ice bomb correct?

so now, do the same but dont cap the bottle, instead place a hose from the bottle to the intake manifold.

bottle pressurizes.

excess gets pushed into the intake instead of exploding into the atmosphere.

as you can see in my first post, the question was how much dry ice would be needed to create enough gas to pressurize the intake.

your wrong, the fact that it creates pressure means it will do the job,

question is how much dry ice you need to create that pressure.

just remember to set the motor to TDC before doing it so that way you dont leak any past the valves :6

Dry ice vaporizes and would create condesation when it warms to room inside your mani, TB, piping ect.

A better way to check for leaks (staticly) would be to get a big conical plug thats the diameter intake pipe, drill a small hole in the center with a 1/4" bit, then shove a blow gun in it and pressurize the piping. Don't use shop air or anything (100psi would be bad) but hook up a regulator in line and run it to what ever boost level you run. Listen for leakies. Simple. ;)

Perhaps if you didn't make threads with stupid ------- titles you could get a straight answer, but I shouldn't expect much from someone that draws saggy cock pictures like a 3 y/o to represent his uncontrolable ideology. ::)

Non the less, you have what you wanted. A perfect way to do a leak down test on your induction piping. Just disregard the part about using a regulator and get back to us with pics. ;)
