UPDATE: blown engine story... the aftermath

As you all know, the engine siezed up when I was on the highway in 3rd/4th gear... refer to the post if you don't know.

Honda called me back and reported to me their findings... I think they pulled my head on the engine.

They said that my #2 piston was messed. The #2 piston, for whatever reason hit my sparkplug and destroyed it and hit my intake valve destroying the retainer and lodging the valve inside the cylinder area.

They said I need a new engine, i guess they are too lazy to fix up the damage, I assume its easier dropping in an engine.

Anyways, I think it's because I spun a bearing due to bad oil pump and oil pickup etc.. I had ENOUGH oil level but not enough oil pressure thus resulting in spun bearing. Another person told me that when the bearings are gone, the rod/piston assembly loosens up thus travelling further and killing my spark plug and valve.

I still have to wait next week after the stupid "Canada" long weekend to find out exactly what happens, i know for sure my car is going to be in the shop for at least until next next thursday.

Can any confirm my suspicion of the spun bearing resulting in the further travelling of the piston? :o

Warped head

Re:UPDATE: blown engine story... the aftermath

could the oil pump failure cause head warp?

stock internal engine man. wasn't overheating... although oil light came on a lot during the lifetime of the engine.. like comes on during startup for 2-5 seconds sometimes

and sometimes when i start, it feels like it's going to stall and starts REALLY REALLY slow, sluggish and hard and that's when the oil light turns on mostly.

Then if the oil gets realy low It would produce heat causing the head to warp

Re:UPDATE: blown engine story... the aftermath

but wasn't overheating... or you mean heat from internal friction??

oil LEVEL WAS NOT LOW, EVER IN MY ENGINE'S LIFETIME

oil pressure was another story... get it straight please.

when i say low i mean low oil pressure get off my back with that. and yes friction causes heat if the oil PRESSURE is low.was the motor knocking at all?
