Default uh oh, got a new mistress

She demands lots of attention
I've been looking at guitars for months now and finally pulled the trigger yesterday, not an easy decision though. I was considering a cheaper epiphone les paul/SG and putting in EMG 81/85 pickups but after playing on an epi for a while I just wanted something built better. Very happy though, it plays like a dream...a very expensive dream.

Old epiphone les paul special 2 this guitar went for $400 back in 1999, now it sells for $150, amazing beginer guitar though.

And if you want a good amp, look for old peavy ultra 120's. I sold my DSL 100 when I got mine.

I love gibsons. there is a lot of hype though, once we got wheelin and dealin I hardley paid anything for it, less than 1/2 the list price, so that says a lot right there. For an amp I'm using a line 6 spider 2, not bad, but the tones fit most of the styles I play.

I think there are different tones to each guitar. Fenders sound a little more bright to me and the gibson's always seem a little more smokey if that makes any sense. I love the Les Paul Im jeleous.

That thing is sex with strings. and I mean the good kind

Very nice!

I play a Epiphone Les Paul that I bought almost 10 years ago now. Great guitar.

How much did the Gibson set you back?

I had some neck problems w/mine but way better than my first guitar, a fender knock off thats made of compressed sawdust and glue.

Just the guitar was 630. List price was 1400 but anyone whos shopped at guitar center know list doesn't mean anything. zzounds sells it for 1270.00
