Turbo Puking Oil....

Damn... it seams that when it isnt one thing going wrong... its the other..... i reinstalled the turbo onto my car.. but noticed there was a little bit of oil comming out of it from the exhaust housing. I thought it was from the oil left in the oil feed line, since i stored it in a box, and thought that it drained into it. well i cleaned it off and reinstalled the turbo. I started it up and it starts to shoot out white smoke... no biggie i thought (wrong!!!) it kept shooting out white smoke... and then it stoped so i figure, lets go for a drive. well i drove it and even more smoke came out. damn... something is wrong. well i figure the seals or gaskets must be fried or something... damn... rebuild time...!!!!

I found it strange that it worked good one day and then a week later its puking oil... oh well... Im getting a rebuild kit from a local turbo shop

has anyone ever heard of Turbocity.com???

wish me luck

i find it weird how its white smoke.. that means coolant.

also put a bleed off valve at the turbo to bleed of some pressure, sometimes the oil pressure in our cars will actually push the seals out.

Re:Turbo Puking Oil....

ur positive your seals are leaking?

its a bleed off valve so your turbo doesnt get like 70psi oil pressure, like a needle valve screwed into the turbo..

buy maximum boost off amazon.

Re:Turbo Puking Oil....

im going to try that... before i rebuild it. then thanks...

cause i did notice that when the car was on the oil line seemed to be pulsating.???

what would be an adequate PSI level

Re:Turbo Puking Oil....

I was taking it apart and just noticed something... that the oil return line was pinched on a bracket from the engine? would this have anything to do with the turbo puking out oil from what i recently noted is both sides, (exhaust and compressor ) rather than the seals beeing fucked up???? or would this contribute to their demise???

Re:Turbo Puking Oil....

Yup...that could very well be causing your problem.

Re:Turbo Puking Oil....

i just finished removing the turbo off the car... and when flipped it upside down... a ---- load of oil came out of the exhaust inlet... and i mean a ---- load...so i know something had to have fucked up, the compressor blades are not scratching on anything. and it still spins freely.... im gonna take it to that one shop and see what they tell me... im pretty sure there gonna want to sell me a complete cartridge for it... or at least a rebuild kit... but lets hope they give me an honest answer... but now that im thinking. it would be a good idea to rebuild it, as it would improve efficiency and reliability ... am I right???
