Turbo Blazer Track numbers-

havent posted in a while. Just been busy.

Truck
Bonestock 2002 4.3L v6 w/ 4l60e automatic transmission. w/ 50k miles
3.42's with OPEN DIFFRENTIAL
Full interior.

Turbo set-up
REARMOUNTED Garrett t3/t04e 60trim (ported, clipped, balanced).
Intercooled
EBAY greddy Type S BOV
Turbonetics 38mm W.G.
Turbonetics MBC
Cartech adjustable FMU
Procharger inline fuel pump
SAFE TUNE @ 10psi
AEM UEGO WIDEBAND

Rest of the truck-
MSD wires/coil
Nitto 555r's (275-60-15) 30" tire.
Lakewood traction bars
3" drop front & rear

this was @ moroso on April 3rd. @ the Import Nat's there.
Won second place & $300...... woulda won but i ran outta gas @ about the 1000 ft. mark...... noob ass mistake on my part. my first competition. shoulda coulda woulda.

The truck has a devils own methanol stage 1 kit on it but it wasnt used because i have no real way to tune the truck my self.

The truck was running 10.0 the whole run. I kept backing out the adjustable FMU but it never seemed to get leaner. so i stopped backing it out incase my wideband might have been acting up.

Track temps where about 95*. Especially with my intake being open to the hot ass pavement.

Anyways times-
@ 10psi i made 10 runs ranging from 13.5 to 13.8 @ 97mph..... with low 1.9 60's.

only made 1 run @ 14psi.-
13.1 @ 99mph w/ 1.86 60' .007 R/T. Still running rediculously rich. didnt want to wash out the cylinder walls so i backed it back down to 10psi..

so im banking on if i get a tune in the truck on methanol i will be in the 12.6 to 12.7 range on a bone stock motor. but we will have 2 see.

if i can trust my eyes it looks like your FMU is back near the turbo. if it is thats prob why you are running rich. intake mani isnt seeing as much boost as the FMU since it is so much closer to the turbo. you prob have quite the pressure drop through all the piping and IC.

either way, bad ass truck. prob suprize a lot of people on the street

thanks for the concern. but the FMU is run from the manifold. as is the wastegate. Its just that its all soft fuel lines under the hood and there hard lines under there. so thats where i put the FMU.

STEVENB- yes i do run a scavenger pump to get the oil back to the pan. other wise the turbo wouldnt work enough for me to make it outta the drive way.

BurkeJ62- its a 4l60e. same transmission that came camaro's, and C5 vettes. + it has a shift kit and vette servos. its been holding up fine. its seen 70+ passes @ the 1/8th mile and 20+ passes @ the 1/4 mile. plus lots and lots of street action.

and yeah here is me showing my mad topend yo against an E46 M3, and LS1 T/A. but the truck was running so rich that it was bogging in the top of 2nd and third. the M3 and i have ran since then. dead even till 110 from a roll.

10 psi on an FMU is considered safe in your world? LOL nice. Maybe look into some tuning software and some bigger injectors.

to bad it aint a honda otherwise i would do bigger injectors if it didnt cost me $2000+........ must not know about the vortec Fuel injection set-up.

was that @ full interior? with spare tires & jack. still have the rear seats, still have a/c still have radio.... if so awsome. if not awsome. i dont care my truck is daily driven + its shaped like a brick, + its got a stock 2000 stall converter + its a TRUCK engine so its built for low end torque not topend HP like the honda motors. it still has complete interior. doesnt have a good tune in it & I have maxed out the stock MAF @ 10psi. i will be getting EFIlive to run a 3bar speed density set-up + data logging so i can actullay have a good tune it. and then i will also be able to tune with methanol.. im hoping with just e-fans, and tuning with methanol it will put me in the 12.5 to 12.7 range @ 105+mph. i had some issues.

dude i was just saying , i know there are alot of fast n/a hondas, and turbo hondas and everythign else out there...... im not saying your ---- is slow i was just wondering how you find my truck slow for the mods that it has. because right now i am the fastest stock motor blazer in the nation so i think im doing pretty good for what i have. thats awsome you got an accord that runs those numbers all motor. i just dont find the sound of an N/A honda appealing @ all but i know that there are people that dont like the sound of my truck @ all. Everybody has a preference. But im sure that thing is an awsome sleeper.

we do things a little different because of the inhernt ---- box fuel injection system gm gave us. fastest s10 is running 14psi + heads +cam in an s10 with a the same fuel system as me but he is actually using his methanol.

ososlohatch- you seem upset why? because i was stating that the truck has a bonestock drivetrain other the turbo, ignition, and shift kit? sorry if that upsets you.

and for saying 2 bad it isnt a honda? that wasnt meant as an insult. I WOULD love to be able to just swap injectors and tune. like everyone else. but instead gm gave me 6 240cc multec 2 injectors that cannot be replaced. i know what your thinking. "stfu multec II's can be replaced!".... wrong..... or @ least on my engine. gm put a unique inlet on the injector as to where no other injector other then the stock replacments will fit so we have to take a carburater manifold and convert it to MPFI, fuel rails, bungs, FPR mount, coil mount, conversion plate for TB, all fittings, and hosing. or i could go an get a marine intake manifold because they use this engine in alot of marine applications and it comes with MPFI set-up. but the people that are selling that set-up want a rediculous amount.

didnt mean 2 upset anyone but i guess i did. sarcasm must not be a big thing with yall on this board.......... and didnt want to turn this into a pissing match but.... 2late.

The place I do some fabrication work for tunes rides like that daily. All you need is some injectors and a rom editor. Any local V8 tuning shop in your area will have software for that. If you need some names I can see exactly what J&M Motorsports would use on that on Monday and I will PM you. Very nice set up.

Nice truck. I sometimes wonder how my Jeep would do at the track with a similar setup, but I'm sure my motor/tranny would only holdup to a couple runs before it ----. :3

no dude mad props yes it was with all the ---- in it, interior that is gut that bitch and ripper hard bet u hit twelves with the tune you have now, and go check out the baja trucks or stadium trucks allot run the same motor you got so there is a lot of top end power to be had

NO you cant UPGRADE my injectors man. im sorry you cant .we have tried everything. if you read my entire post i go into why. The new vortec engines do run a MPFI set-up. i have a 2002 4.3L which has the old POS Vortec injection system. i cant just upgrade injectors its not that easy.

i need a cam + stall to really take advantage of that. im gonna get a good tune in it with methanol and then throw a ford 8.8" with a 2800-3000stall in it + somebolt ons (2.25" y-pipe, HX35 turbo, E-fans, MSD 6a) should really wake the truck up. i want low 12's with those mods. Then with a good cam and some head work. i really hoping for a 11.9 to 12.1 @ 110+. still stock bottom end. gonna be doing alot of data logging i guess ;)

and yes i know that my motor is used in many racing series.
they run the older 4.3L NON balance shaft block (sy/ty block). My block is a 2002 it is the strongest of the bs blocks but the main difference is that the NONBS blocks have thicker main webbings making them much more sturdy to 4-bolt main. these motors can make great topend power i know but for the same price i can build this motor i can swap a 6.0L engine in. although i would still really like to see how far i can take this motor. would be fun. There is a guy with my same motor (2002 4.3L) with built engine on a single stage 250-300shot and aparently its holding together so we will see. Hes making right around 600whp.

don't gut your interior, it sucks and you cant feel a difference.

Yeah, and you look stupid driving around with half an interior. :1 Unless you're going for all out racing as fast as you can and that extra .00000000000000000000099999998888887777999 is worth it, don't do it. The only reason I ever gutted any of my cars was because the interior was so disgusting I pretty much had to. :-\
