I'm trying to see if they could go sign it at a notary, then have me go sign it the next day if I'm not available. Bleh

You don't have to be at the notary to sign anything. You sign ---- later on your own. The car owner who's name is on the title has to sign in front of the notary, not you.

Huh? That says "Seller". The seller has to be at the notary, not you. You n00b! :P

That website was wrong. I know it said about the seller; i was saying it as if he were to sign everything then hand it over. That site did specify that the buyer had to be in front of the notary.

you both have to sign in front of the notary in pa, the notary is the one that can get a new title issued to you from the pa dmv

Sin, just call a notary and tell them what's up. Most I've seen will let the owner(seller) come in and sign, then they will hold the title for 24hrs for you to come in and sign your part. If you don't show, I don't remember what happens: the title gets voided I think, then the original owner may have to apply for a lost title? pure guess on that last part, but I do know it was something that you didn't want to happen last I checked.

Thats basically what I said in my post earlier. Just have them go to the notary, sign it and leave it there, you go when you get time and finish the transaction. I have done that many times.

Serious? That's ------- stupid. In AZ all you have to do is have the seller sign and notarize the title. He can then hand the title to whoever he wants and they are responsible after that. I've signed and notarized titles before selling a vehicle just because I knew I was going to sell it within the next 30 days. Makes it easy for the buyer. Just hand him the title and have him sign a bill of sale. California doesn't even require a notary. Just a forged signature on the title and you're good to go. :l
