Trading my old ass perfect conditioned 1982 Moto-Ski snowmobile 500cc for a bike identical to this. Even has the pink stripe ;)

yeah actually all the vinyl is coming off, and the wheels are getting sprayed gunmetal. might slap a big HMT decal ont eh side of it

in the 80's what was hot were the hot pink, teal & aqua decals. zig-zag, slashing, and early computer generated graphics (cones, sphere's, pyramids, etc, etc) that was new ---- then.



Anywho, put a turbo on it & call it badass. or do like he said, use the bike to build something else.

looks like it's in pretty good shape, i'd pick it up and try to make some money off of it. it's ancient ass bike thats going to be balls ------- slow and impossible to find parts for when you ---- it up. if it was a 2-stroke it'd be cool, but it isn't and it's not.

The bike is clean and has very little miles on it, and i'm trading it for a snowmobile that might bring 400 bucks tops where I live. To me it's a good trade, even if the bike is top gun material ;)

NOW THAT'S A HONDA THAT DEFINITELY NEEDS AN ENGINE SWAP. It's a good looking bike(if it's in GOOD shape) but a 250 4stroke?? That's gonna be waaaay slow. I wish I lived somewhere that got enough snow to constitute ownin' a snowmobile...I'd have 1 :y

I had a 250 ninja for a few months back in 2000. their sloooow. about as fast as a stock gsr. Only thing that was fun about it was jumping it over handicap ramps and stuff on the street their light enough you can hold the front end up.

Dude the bikes out of style period. But atleast it's clean. I wouldn't go screwing it up with a can of spray paint to make it look like ass. Leave it alone and enjoy it. Just except that it's not an 08 gsxr 1000 and it never will be.......ride it save some gas money.

Looks like someone took very good care of it...I'd say that was a good trade...Please don't f@ck it up and try to spray it with can spray paint or anything like that...I wonder if a 2 stroke 500cc CR dirtbike engine would fit in there??

Bike will be kept bone stock, and i'll be driving it around town/country driving during the summer. I might even leave that pink vinyl.

listen to me man, you've got something that you can make some money off of. sell it before it before you ---- it up. i absolutely support 250's for first bikes, but not when they can make some money. some jerk off that thinks old ass slow bikes are cool will buy it for 3k and brag about it to his friends, so let him.

250's are fun if you can actually ride, and go show up a bunch of squids on brand new 600s but if you're just getting started you're just going to get pissed with it in a week and want something else. sell that POS to some sucker and go buy a bike you'll enjoy.

You know you could spend $12 on Ultracote, Monokote, etc type iron on coverings that we use on R/C aircraft.
They iron on and peel off with heat so easy removal...
I always preffered ultracote. It's lighter & irons on much easier, not nearly as hard to remove air pockets.

I would suggest that if you wanna rock the bike, but not change it.



You know I remember bikes like that... If I lived in a big city, I'd rock it... Bikes don't have to be fast to be fast in traffic, plus it's almost worthless if it get's stolen in the first year, and it prolly get's tons of gas mileage.

I havent even gotten my permit to drive the thing yet. Guy I got it off of says it drives fine out on the highway, 55ish.. I probably wouldn't take it much over that anyway.. it's a little bike

i had a 125 yamaha dirt bike when i was a little kid that'd do 50-55 with me on it. im sure it'd do well over 55...

and thats why 250s are pointless...why waiste the money...get a bike you'll be happy with for longer then a week....even thought its a 250, i'd deffinatly say you got the better half of the trade

that may be your opinion, however the OP is being smart and limiting his bike so that he may get a solid riding base of skill to learn on and move up. I don't see why everyone is saying get a better one, one that you will enjoy.. Why? So he can drop that one, the one he will invest more in, one that will have more power and be more dangerous to a first timer? He is being smart and mature about learning how to ride a bike. It's pretty clear he is not selling it or moving up right now, so if you have any more negative comments, just keep them to yourself.

@ OP Good beginners bike :) You will enjoy a 250 as you learn and improve your skill. They are LOTS of fun in the twisties :)

that bike makes about 20bhp. and does what? 70mph falling off a cliff? do listen to the man about the CR500 motor. I own a CR500, they vibrate soo bad an old man would lose his dentures. maybe these pics will help.
