I just recently got my wife a Garmin c330 ~$250 on ebay. It works great. We loves it. Touch screen, voice prompts. Good stuff.

yeah, sounds like my job, just not landscaping. thomas guides are very useful but are hard as ---- to read in the car. Why the ---- is the text and scale so god damn small?

Touch screen, voice prompts, expandable services if you care for that kind of stuff (ie. traffic, weather, buddy locater, all crap I could care less about.) This one came out to a little under $300 with some of my Rewards Zone stuff I had, and a 2 year, no questions asked replacement plan insurance. If it breaks, I get a new one. Seems fair to me.

I haven't taken it around in the car with me, I like to sit on my ass on Sundays, if/when I actually get them off. But it's interface is easy to navigate, and seems pretty right on the money, as I've used it sitting in my bedroom asking it for directions to places. If it works anything as well as it seems to work so far, this is a great buy for me. Hopefully it performs that well tho...

Yeah, Thomas Guides are great, when you aren't trying to drive.. And when you memorize the major streets and what pages they span across. Rofl.

don't forget in one year and 364 days to return he gps for an updated model or a refund. even if it is working proper. I bought a ps2 and the day before my warranty expired I brought it back, lady asked "anything wrong with it" I say "nope" she says "oh your smart, taking advantage of your warranty" and I smirk. so I got the new ps slim and a 50 dollar gift card because the system went down 50 dolllars since my initial purchase.

Good to do when iPods upgrade. I never buy the warranites though, mostly because I never shop there.

Flat panels for under a grand and phones for a hundred, everything else online.

Since my phone uses windows mobile, I could easily just get a gps dongle and install the software on an SD card. It already has touchscreen and all that bs so works just fine, I use google maps instead. Free, takes up little space, and it's all I need even for long trips. Could also install skype on it and use the wifi, but again...something I dont have a use for.

have a Garmn streetpilot that i use for work and love.....other then new devolpments that aren't in any map....it's been great..

$40 usb gps reciever and a laptop + inav software = best tool i had when i installed for directv all over my state

id sit back and smoke and eat in my van while some ladys voice came out my laptop telling me where to turn, id be on the cell with other installers laughing at them cause they were lost or an hour late for there install

gps kicks ------- unless u never drive anywhere unfamiliar

a friend of mine has the alpine GPS in his car that he uses for work. he can take it out and putit in any car if he wants. was kinda cool how it measures your speed and distance then gives you an approximate tiem you should arrive. we went to pick up some car parts not too long ago and it made it real easy. just type in the city, well the first part then it auto finishes then the street name and number. we were a minute ahead of the time it said we would show up. i liked it alot and was thinking about getting one for work also but just need to bring myself to spend that much. :-[

skype on my mda sucks...it works but call quality is terrible..runs terribly slow, even on stripped down firmware...dont bother trying it
