Eat healthy. Cut back on the greasy, fatty, and sweet foods. Then just balance it all out. Get a good nights sleep (at least 8 hours). Drink lots of water. Keep up with your workout schedule. If you want to mostly drop weight, run and/or swim every other day. Then throw in a weight training session maybe twice a week, and take a day off maybe every four days or so. That kind of schedule seems to work pretty well for me. I've been wanting to start that workouts 1 & 2 on trainforstrength.com. But those seem pretty intense. You might want to try those out. Good luck.

And how about for food, what would be good for me to eat/drink, especially before/after my workout?

And thanks for the link FURACERMAN, I'll have to check it out here :D

Drink shitloads of water, when you exercise your body needs it (duh ;) ). MILK does a body good too!

i used to wrestle in high school and it's all about what you put into your body. I lost 7 pounds during one practice. Of course it's all water weight but still. 7 pounds is 7 pounds. I only eat once per day and i eat early. If i go out to diner or something i try to make it before 6 or 7 because it's not really good to eat and then sleep. You just gotta find your groove. Everyones body is different and when you get into a "routine" if you will, you'll be golden.

In the air force (the only place I've exercised) 8) we would do situps, pushups, pullups, ect on one day for about 2 hours or so, then the next day we would do walk/run in like 3-5 minute intervals. Run your ass off for like 3 minutes, then walk for 3. Then the next day it was back to push ups and ----.

Take it for what it's worth. That's all I know. ;D

I'm going to use this machine and my treadmill, hoping to be able to run under a 6 minute mile by June as well.

Any tips, when I should work out, what I should eat, etc. etc? I'm not taking any pills/creotines/stuff like that.

I have that same work out machine but i dont really like it cause it doesnt really have the benifits of using free weights.

So you're not looking for lean, so you won't have to do a lot of strength exercises. Trim exercises are like sit-ups, push-ups, sprints, and jogging. Things like that coupled with a well balanced diet. Don't completely cut out certain things in your diet instantly because it'll shock your system.

The best tip I can give in regards to eating is no fast food at all and no soda pop. I cut those out a long time ago and I've stayed within the 185-190 lb spot for a few months.

My advice would be strength train. It's not really losing weight, but it's burning fat and turning it into muscle.
I think it's better to be lean than trim.
