ok i know im going to get serverly mixed results but as most of you know i am a ZC lover.. but i want more power till i build another boost setup,so i have a basic a6/z6 mini me i am working on.. the high comp. kind but i iam wondering should i spend the 1k and build it to make 160-175hp or is it time to get me an LS bottom and a b16 head for about the same price? i am kind of confused as all i have ever know is D love but the zc will be used as a back up motor for now till i either build the ---- out of it or get tired of doing anything and buy a lexus.. so please HONEST opinion's and no lop sided ----..

2 options

cliff's: build the zc,continue with high comp a6\z6 or swap out to LS/V

I love boost, but I also have a fetish for N.A. now. JG engine dynamics had a NA ZC video on their website that is very sexy.

175 whp all motor d series is easier said then done. I never got close to those kind of #'s with my builds and had well over 2000+in the builds



The head had alone was well over a grand

In reality your run of the mill all motor d will be 130-145 in a good day. Refrence the wheeze which made 130 had and 14.1 compression and a good head,its not that easy.

yes i have seen there 1.8l zc that makes 200whp.. dont want to invest that kind of money at this present moment.. i am trying to keep total cost under 13-1500 i want best bang for the and for that money it would be hard for me to make the power i want turbo which is kind of why i want to swap.. bigger power for less money and reliable

all motor talk=isnt cheap. Not the typical I throw oversized cams in stock ls/vtec builds.



Dont bother unless your a wierdo like myself and enjoy chating flow #'s with old men stick with boosting a motor. I also worked/friends with one of the OG all motor guys who ended becoming one of the first guys to run 9's and now he is back to all motor.


Dont waste any money with a big all motor zc motor not worth it unless again you like the wierdo thing.

i WILL NOT throw another piece of ---- junkyard setup together.. i wan reliable before boost again.. fully built is the only way.. just looking for something to throw together that will get me a good amount of power i will be happy with till i build another boost setup

if had people to chat flow #'s with i would probably chat with them.. whats the typical bolt together LS w/b16 head aound 180-185hp? i am not looking to crack 200hp just looking for something that has good power and will be almost 100% reliable till i decide what i want to build for a nasty turbo setup in the future. not really concerned about 200hp or above just something that has lots of torque and like to rev a bit.. thats why i was leaning toward mini me but that investment would be wasted for 1500 when i could have slapped together and LS/V for the same price and had more power out of the box.. GOD DAMN I AM SO CONFUSED!

LS + 8lbs with a 60/63 with some conservative timing = A good amount of power...... ;)

But I know what you mean about a junk set up. Im building my ls for this race season. I want a 350+ hp setup to rock for the summer and summers to come. >:D
