these cops searched my garage
 

I woke up to find two "detectives" at my front door this morning
they told me that my names been passed around with all the car thefts in my area
I was just like wtf i dont have anything stolen
then the go on about how im selling all this stuff on craigslist, and always sell cars, and i was just like so that means i steal cars?

so i let them go through my garage, go through all my ----, blah blah blah, because i know for a fact that nothing stolen

then they start going off about how i dont put cars in my name, and then bring up that i del sol i used to have
they told me they tracked down the new owner and ran the codes and found out that it had a stolen engine in it? (------- d16b7 for the ------- win) I bought that car for 1200 one day, put a cf hood on it, traded it 2 days later for an integra, i didnt even have a chance in ---- to put a new motor in it

and then the moron goes on to say "so ive been seeing that youve been doing a rebuilt title in some of your ads"

i was just like what are you talking about

and he goes on to say "so how have you been going about doing this rebuilt title"

what a ------- moron, i had to explain to the mother fucker what a rebuilt title on a car was :S

and then he starts taking valve covers off the gsr heads i have in my garage, sayin "these are those b vtecs huh, arent those pretty pricy? how do you have money for all this? and how do you know theyre not stolen? then he walks up to a set of stock civic seats and goes "where did you get these, they look pretty pricy???

they pretty much told me most of the parts in my garage were stolen just because i didnt have proof otherwise

what i was wondering is can those ------ ------s even get me for anything? i mean yeah i have a lot of parts but that doesnt mean ----

i started yelling at him cause he kept refering to everything as "stolen parts" and then he got pissed and told me that he could arrest me right now because of all the parts i have due to the fact that the del sol i sold, had a stolen motor in it???

did you get there names by chance? did they have a warrant to look at your property? if not id be on there asses hard. i have the city try coming to my house telling me that i cant work on my cars. i turn them the other way and tell them to leave. what i do is none of there business.

My friends shop was searched along with 15+ other southern california shops. 2 major companies at the time had stolen motors



Couple guys went to prison


Another did his time and moved to texas. He is now out of business. PYRacing

This is how they catch thieves. Engine blocks are are the only thing in dmv records. Welcome to reality. If they didnt people would just steal motors all day and they would have no way to track them :1

For your record the vin# and engine block are recored when a new car is sold. This is how they verify when you go to smog that the engine block is the correct year or newer for the car and also isnt stolen. Ill promise you california isnt the only one that does this nevada did has well. Butt ---- egypt states in the middle of the country people cant afford anything so Im sure they dont give a ----. I doubt anyone will miss a ford tempo

the burden of proof is on them, just saying o this looks stolen dosent mean ----. next time they come make sure they have a warrant and while they are looking call your ------- lawyer and put the detectives on the phone. dont talk to cops for any reason, that is just dumb.

Also sounds more like your neighbors hate you. Cops are not on craiglist looking at your ---- has much has you may think cops pay attention nor do they have the time.


They go off what other people tell them. Or you have somebody you know who is a rat and trying to get your in trouble so he doesnt go back to jail

+2, same thing happened to me down at CNU... Couple dope kids got nailed one night, so they sent the Newport News detective and his 2 police escorts to my dorm room at 3:30am. Glad nothing ever went into or out of my room. But yeah, get badge numbers, names, car #, and make sure they have a goddamn warrant

basically this is what it comes down to. maybe they did check out your craigslist ad but they didnt wake up one day and say "hmmmm im gonna go look on craigslist for someone to harrass about stoeln parts"

someone told the popo you have stolen parts, and told them about the craigslist ads so they can go there and get you shook because you think they are investigating you because of how much they know about you already. basically they only need to be able to prove ONE thing in your garage is stolen and they will confiscate it ALL as stolen property, especially if you dont have proof of purchase or ownership.

ok here's what you did wrong man, if they didnt have a search warrant which im betting they didnt because they would have taken ---- they suspected to be stolen if they did, you should have respectfully answered their questions and told them to get the ---- off your property, respectfully lol

If anything you own happens to be stolen, even if you had no knowledge of it your fucked i mean think about it how much ---- do you have laying around you bought from people or yards that could have been stolen, you should have not let them search

the problem is innocent people get fucked all the time, the report look really bad if they charge your ass. Ps im sure you figured this out by now but if you have any ---- you bought from shady people or are just not sure about, now would be a very very good time to get rid of it

Find new car friends, or better yet, dont hang out w/ the shady ones. You know who they are.
Next time a detective comes to your house, politely refuse a search of your garage and car.
When they ask, "Why, what do you have to hide?", respond with, "I value my 4th Amendment rights, Im sure you would agree?". Then hand him a RonPaul08 bumper sticker, hahaha.

I'm sure someone else has already said this, but you should have politely asked the police for their warrant, and if they didn't have one, politely decline the search and send them home.

As far as the cops, that's pretty shitty. In the great state of Alabama, there are tons of riced Hondas, but they aren't really "big" here and theft isn't a problem. Thank goodness. I've left my car parked with the window down (say no to combining xanax and alcohol), and doors unlocked, for over a day and never had a problem. Other honda had a window missing and doors unlocked sitting at an apartment complex of nogs and still never had any problems. Some fag did break into the same apartment though....
